Well I just signed up, My leave date is next september. I could have left may 28, 2011 but i figured boot camp may be slightly eazyer during the winter. I will be goin to paris island. When Im done with 9 months of active duty i plan on trying for sniper school. Good luck to all deployed service men. Looking forward to bein part of the most bad ass fighting force on earth.

Congrats man! You might want to rethink PI being easier in the winter. It still gets cold there. And cold and wet sucks. I was there from June-Sept.

Either time of year sucks for PI. Winter is cold and rainy, summertime is hot, humid and tons of sand fleas.

Yeah, but you get that skin-so-soft stuff, and the sand fleas leave you alone...

I was stationed there for 3 years.

San Diego isn't much better to be honest. I went from April to July and I remember sweating my ass off during the day and being pretty damn cold at night.

Just worry about boot camp for now. Your a LONG ways out from a sniper indoctrination let alone sniper school. Good luck.

I went to boot camp there as well, (June-Sept) It definitly sucked, but I wouldnt trade it for a PI recruit experience...
