I've had the tires sitting here for 2 weeks and finally got time to drop the truck off Tuesday morning (I dropped the tires off Monday afternoon).

Took a bunch of pics of the tires....

You can see they are slightly shorter, and wider than the 40/15.50R20 Toyos

You can see the ridges on the tread blocks. This is a technology used in skid steer and tractor tires as well. Helps to prevent the tread from getting packed with mud and helps the tires self clean better.

Of course, the "DC" over the shoulder lug was a big plus for my truck

As you can see....I'm back to having a little better tire clearance:

I think that they give the truck a more aggressive look:

And probably one of the only times I'll ever have both trucks at the shop at the same time:

So far I am very pleased and very impressed with them. They balanced out quite well....2.75-6.0 oz per tire. They are probably the best riding tire that I've ran so far. They ride very nice and smooth. They are also fairly quiet for a Mud Tire, can barely hear them with the windows down once I get past 50mph. So far I'm loving the tires.

Of course, it started to rain once I left the tire place....so I'll get some better pics once I get a chance to clean the truck up.

And here’s a photoshop that Bear Hunter did for me:

I’ve put a couple hundred miles on them over the week. Definitely, the best riding large mud tire that I have ran to date (I’ve ran 38” PJs, 38” Toyos, and 40” Toyos).
The tire place had them all at 50 psi and it rode great and actually had even tread contact. This morning I aired the fronts down to 45 psi and the rears down to 40 psi…..now the ride is amazing.
Not the quietest mud tire due to their aggressive tread design, but the quietest and smoothest riding that I’ve ran or ridden in so far.

Special Thanks to Dave at DiablOffroad and Willy at Dick Cepek/Mickey Thompson Tires.

Scott,

I'll have to get a new one then LOL
I dented the hell out of the last one when I dropped it while doing a how-to and taking pics will working under the truck.

Rich,
Thanks.

Colin,
Not so much anymore......no good mud, not much time.....and man does clean up suck. I still have mud falling off when I work on it and the last time I went in the mud was over a year ago LOL

Ben,
Yeah, I know....but I'm keeping these ones now. The last ones were used and weren't in as good condition as advertised :bang

Very cool Dan... Anxious to hear a longer term review... even though mine are still somewhat new, i always have my ear out for the next cool tire..... they look very cool and I'm surprised that they ride as well as you say... better and quieter than the Toyos huh? These ProComp XATs aren't much quieter than the Toyos...

Scott,

They do ride better than the Toyos, no joke they ride awesome.....but they do have more of a hum at higher speeds than the Toyos from what I remember from my 38" Toyos.
My 40" Toyos were previously used and cupped to hell so they made a good amount of noise.
Thanks for the info on the rebate.

Pete,
Thanks.

Looks good Dan, How come you didint stay with the 40" tall tires? I was actually thinking of them but was afraid of change. Looks good.

Going to Indy in a couple of weeks???

Man, that looks sick...and you sure lucked out with having DC as your initials!

As Kevin would say "your truck sure has come a long way!"

HAHAHAHA...

Rob,
I was pushing it with a 40/15.50R20 under my lift (8.5" DR that netted me 9.25-9.5" of lift). And I could really tell that they placed a good amount more stress on the truck to turn them at slow speeds.
My truck is built to better accomodate 38s.
As for Indy, I doubt it.....I'm currently booked into August with jobs, been putting in 80-90hr weeks lately.

Gene,
Thanks :Cheer:

Denny,
Thanks, I do really like the look of them too....look better than any of the pics I've seen of them.
Don't get me started on Kevin.....although I think I may have lucked out and don't have to work on his truck over the summer LOL

Looks good Dan, Keep us informed about how well they wear. So was it just that the 40's were used more than you thought? Because I was thinking about the 4'' upgrade kit from Rize to make mine 12'' and then I was going with the Toyo 40's.

Tommy, yep...I was told that the 40s were 50-75% tread and I specifically asked if they were cupped...and was told No.

Well, once I unloaded them from the trailer I could see two of them were cupped and pretty damn worn. I measured the better/even two...they were 55% tread.

Lovin' the DC's so far though........although I had to burn all the little nubs off of the tread of my rear tires last night on my way home :D
Another PSD with and exhaust and who knows what else (I don't think much else :hehe: )wanted to try and show off....so I had to show him how to do it, with 38s :evil LOL

Very aggressive tires and they look great, how do they ride and sound? and my guess is that they will keep anyone from getting stuck with the sidewalls on them :) what is the pricetag on them I didn't see it anywhere in your post.

kevin,
Glad to see you could drop the pom poms long enough to make a post here LOL

freddy,
they ride great.....definately the best riding large tire I've ran so far. Noise isn't bad at all....I can't really hear them unless I have the windows down the radio rather low above 60mph.
As for price...most places sell the 38/15.50R20s for around $440 a tire....of course with everyone price matching now days you can sometimes get them cheaper.
