I've got one that I'm about to start working on too! I know on it (2001) it has a cam sensor instead of a balancer pick up like a 12V. I like software of an 01' better for the tranny. The old motor has a few dropped valves in it and is already modified (P-Pumped).

i'm going to have a 5spd so tranny harness is not need. i have got every thing worked out, but tach, oil press, and water temp. fuel and speed o will work if the ecm is not there but not sure if the others will work.

Leave the ecm just don't hook up to the IP. Use the 24v cam gear and machine the 12v cover to accept the cam sensor. Tach will work from ecm and cam sensor. The oil and water will work as well.

well i get to run today. and all the gauges work. i used the 24v ecm and made a hub for the tone ring to go on the balancer. then mounted the 24v crank senser on a bracket were the 12v senser was. i had to use all the 24v senser and make adaptors to fit in the 12v motor because the 12v uses 1/2npt ports and 24v uses 14mm x1.5 with an o-ring on all the seners. monday will be the big test drive. i still need to put in the drive shaft and pick up a upper rad hose( 24v top hose is 2'' to short) then the fun begins.

I'm not really looking forward to all of this but I don't want a P-Pumped 24V like it has with another dropped valve. I plan on using the 24V ECM and sensor as long as it will work.

it works great. all the gauges work. it pulled 6 codes ( all to do with no apps, no ip, and no intake heaters hooked up.) cut the bulb out tomorrow.12v pulls so much better from the bottom then my 24v ever did and my pump is not set perfect yet.
