Here is an extract of what we posted on our forum last night, although it's a little outdated now, so please read right to the end.

Hi All,

Well the good news is the testers are ready to move on to phase two of the beta program. This will involve tuning the trucks

The first phase of the beta involved reading the ECM calibrations out and then reflashing the unmodified tunes back in. There was a couple of teething problems with a module on the CAN bus causing some grief but that was sorted out pretty fast.

The feedback we have from on truck reading / flashing is as follows.

* No fuse removal required.
* No DTC's set.
* No VIN cleared.
* No double key off/on at end of flash.
* Interrupted reflash full recovery ok.

ECM Read Time: 4:30
ECM Flash Time: 5:30

These times are a typical average, it does vary by maybe 10 - 20 seconds depending on the operating system in the truck, all the test trucks are of course 2006-2007's.

All good news so far!

The even better news is that overnight we've had a number of testers modify the calibrations in their vehicles with excellent results on a few fronts. Firstly, the software worked without issue - there are no dead trucks (or ECM's), there are still no errors/DTC's or VIN issues at the end of the flash.

On the tuning front, the comments we've received include
* Much smoother delivery of power.
* Drivability improvements.
* The results from these few table changes compare to nothing else I've tried.

There is still lots of testing to be done to bullet-proof the software before it's released, but we are much closer to a release date than we were just a few days ago.

Cheers
Cindy

So, what software is the first one?

I've love to see what some of the smarty graphs look like all displayed out and what not.

I saw all the images,
before & after.
They were very impressive & long over do.
Keep up the good work.
As I said in the post that was deleted,
The SCI camp will have to wait but it looks like it will be worth waiting for.

Yeah, i'm definitely going to not buy some other long over due "box". Canned tunes from folks that actually drive fast trucks should do a better job.

Also interested as to when it will apply to the 03-05s? Is this something that will happen this year sometime?

Can I assume you would have to have a dyno to tune a truck's properly?

Nope, for testing at first to see where power levels are, dyno's are great tools. I have tuned well over 1000 trucks remotely with great sucess. On a full built custom truck, then yes, dyno testing does help.

Wonderful thing is the data logging. Customer data logs their truck under testing condition and emails off the log file. I then watch what their truck is doing and can make adjustments.

I wish I could figure this part out. I still tune via SOTP's and how she sounds and pulls. I guess I'm too old fashioned to fully embrace technology. I know on extreme trucks it helps out alot to see what is holding you back and where. And also to find ghosts that can cause tables not to make sense.

Very cool! I'll be dropping the smarty when this product rolls out. Looks like I'll be buying supporting mods and some fueling mods hopefully before EFIlive is released.

There is a thread here detailing some of the feedback. EFILive Beta First Impressions - Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together (http://www.competitiondiesel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104594)

The testers have made some good tuning progress in the last couple of days. I'm sure sometime soon they will start to share that progress.

Cheers

Was wondering if you have a time frame on 03-04 Common Rail. Do you think it will be a year or so.

I would like to try EFI when it comes out for 04 trucks. I have smarty right now tried many programs. For what I have done to my truck there should be more power and I am blaming programing. EFI may be the answer!

We released 06-07 support at the start of June. EFILive FIRST Cummins Public Release - Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together (http://www.competitiondiesel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113232)

We don't tend to post in our sponsor forum, but use the EFILive tuning discussion forum instead.
