That's a cool truck! It seems to fit the "rat rod" style perfectly.

What is that tall handle behind the shifter??

... but in my side of the Earth you can find 2-stroke engines only in museum, and even in museum do not have 53 series .....:kick:

I'd love to shoot it for a feature in Diesel World magazine! It's a great looking truck and I love the style of build!!! Hopefully we'll get a chance to get together and shoot it soon.:snoop:

In my honest opinion, 2 stroke Detroit diesels are only good for turning diesel fuel into noise, also most of them leak oil so fast an oil change is seldom needed, just add oil daily. Never the less, owning a Detroit powered rat rod would be fun!

If you went onboard a ship you would surely find them.. But probably not Detroits. :) Also, still some EMD trains around, at least here.

About the truck. That thing is pure, distilled awesome. Coolest thing I've seen in a while.:Cheer:

they are definatly in a class of there own but if ya build them right "MOST" of the oil stays in em'. but u cant deny that not many engines sound better than a 92 series detroit wound up tight, about "2700 rpm".

No doubt the 8v92tt and 12v92tt are among the most angry engines ever heard! Almost top fuel cool.

bucks gmc runs pretty good now, prolly makes about 200+ hp the way it was but he pulled it apart today and is going to shim the valve springs and gov to twist it up to around 3500.. also he pulled the 80mm injectors out and is putting some 145mm injectors in thier place.. he has plans on putting a 471 blower on it now to along with intercooling between a bigger turbo... should run real good then..

if you think the 16v92 is big you should check out the 16v149's they are huge, and do they ever bellow, but if i ever hear 1 go to 3500 i want to be far away very fast
