Will you be upping the purse for the 2.6 class at all this year?

It seems that we are the lowest on the totem pole but yet we bring one of the best shows around. Fuel is going up and so is food, the 2 biggest consumable items in truck pulling LOL, and parts aren't getting any cheaper. This organization has alot of pulls with great competition and is one of the smoothest operations in the area, if not the SMOOTHEST! I feel that those of us who are dedicated to this sport and organization deserve a little something back. We do bring the show for you, no matter how far away you put an event on from us.

Here are some examples of our class and the other class payouts.

Agreed. So does that mean the gas trucks put on a better show or bring more people than we do?

wasnt trying to hurt.. just stating that you guys have a descent payout.. I would honestly like to see it be around 400-500 for the win around here we have over 30-40 trucks every night just in 2.6

I'm on your side guys, but remember, this years contracts have already been signed.
The best we could hope for is an increase for 2012. The large number of entrants does not help our case, just tells everyone that even if purses were dropped, there would still be enough to have a good class.

thanks for letting me weigh in on this discussion.

the purse for 2.6 has already been increased for the class!!

2010 purse: 225-150-100-85-75-55-35-25 = 750
2011 purse: 250-175-150-100-90-75-60-50 = 950

this is a 26% increase (200 total) for 2011

in 2009 the street diesl class purse was 600 paid to six places

in 2008 (no points) the street diesel purse was 400 paid to five places

the 6200lb. street gas 4x4 class (no points) is paid $400 in 2011

the other truck classes are MODIFIED classes - ProStock Diesel, Pro STreet GAS, RWYB. 2.6 is the ony 4x4 class that is 'street' and stilll runs for points.

we recognize the numbers factor, but this is often a 'double edge' sword with the Fairs who are concerned about the length of the pull.

hope this clears things a bit.

This thread smells of union the local 2.6. We would have to do it old school with leg breaking and such.

I forgot that 2.6 trucks aren't modified. The only difference in 2.6 and fpp prostock is the turbo and the hood stacks.$.02

Even if the payouts stay the same I would like to see a lil more for the championship. I won $600 and that is a good take, but if it were $1000 maybe more people would sign up and run for points. Heck, the extra membership fees may even cover it. In 09 EEP had a contingency program for 2.6, but backed out in '10. That would have been a nice extra, can we get them back or get some more sponsors other than Cenpeco (who does a great job). Im not sayin FPP has to cough up the money, just thinkin out loud. IMO the 2.6 trucks are the fastest growing of all the classes and probably the trucks from stock to 2.6 spend the most money in the country on aftermarket parts, so maybe big sponsors would be more apt to get on bored. $.02
