Ok i know people have run them in the bed before with success but i'm tight on space and i don't wanna take up bed space so, I'm looking to put it under the truck.

I've got more than enough room to run it laying down under the truck with electric fans but i'm just worried about the cooling end of things. I think with the fans and airflow that it will get i'll be ok but i was just looking for some extra input.

Somewhere up in here is where it would be going.

Pretty much everything. DD, racing, maybe pull a sled or 2. But for the most part just a driver.

Why won't it fit up front?

Your cooling will be hampered by that location. And easily susceptible to damage.

Lack of room. If you look at my thread on the rat rod you'll see what i mean.

Yea the damage part was my concern. I can build a skid plate but that too will reduce direct air flow.

Could make a cool screen for it, make vent slots in the running board to feed it.

Radiator relocates with them laying almost flat or flat is an everyday thing in the 4wheeler scene, it will still cool fine but the fan will run more often. Making a shroud of some kind is not a bad idea though.

Hmm I like the the vent slots idea. Build like little ducts to the face of it.

Mount it on top of the engine like subaru does intercoolers. I wouldnt mount it under the vehicle.

I'd feel less comfortable with the radiator mounted atop the engine as I would it mounted in the bed

yea i think with the amount of heat that will already be there and the lack of air flow it wouldn't turn out so well. Plus i'm not cutting any holes in the hood.

i would mount it underneath with fans and a full scoop with screen in the front

Yea that's the plan once i get the trans in and see how much room i really have.
