I did a bed cut. I also had a box built for 1 12" that fit between the back seat and the front console.

The cut through thing isnt gonna work for me. I need all of my bed too much. What can you fit behind the seat?

ehhh... 2 small 10's i think...
my next truck im doing 2 boxes under the cab, one on each side of the transfer case ported into the cab.... its going to have a kelderman bed lift on it...
you have a center consol? i think theres that JL consol that hides a 10 in there too, and there are those new skinny subs, haven't heard anything about them sense they came out on quality or anything but they were hella thin

I checked out that JL console box. I really like it. It will only hold 1 10, but thats probably enough for me. It also retains some storage, plus it raises the console an inch and a half which makes it a little more useable as an armrest.

What do you do about the bed flexing and the box going through like that? I have always wanted to put some subs in my truck, but i want to put 12's in and they arn't going to fit unless I do that.

I have a custom perforated box with 2 - 8's in it. It sounds really good to me. I know the www.proboxrocks.com makes one that will work for you. I was thinking about the one that fits 1-12'' until I got the dual 8's. I am not home right now when I get in I will try and take a few pics for you and post them up.

So you would just leave a huge cut to allow for the flexing.

my box is rhino lined and bolted to the frame of the truck, the box its self only goes up the the edge of the bed, between the bed and the cab is a special rubber seal, our local stereo shop did it all up. no problem with bed flex or anything and i've got 2 JL 13W7's, which are over 13.5" subs

Oh so it doesnt go into the bed. I thought it went through the cab and the bed. I was thinking about 2 12" idmaxs.

it just butts up to the bed, the rubber seal goes the rest of the way, check the pics:evil
i must say that the W7's take alot of box though and it takes up more of the bed than id like, and in my f650 build i dont want to do a bed cut through as i want to install a kelderman bed lift and that wouldnt work with a cut through, thinking maybe under cab cut through? single sub on each side of the transfer case or something? not sure...

In the 04-07 Super Duty's, a single Pioneer shallow mount 12" in a ported enclosure is about the best sound you can get without major mods. It sounds better than the console box plus you dont lose any storage space.

my buddy has an 05 Harley and cartoys built him a box similar to the one in the post above but it holds two jl 10w1's and it sounds great. Fits perfectly behind the seat and is even covered in Harley Leather....

SPL,
Who makes that box? Did it require any cutting at all?

If you are trying to save space, Sony is making what is called a slim line sub. From Experience, they are BAD @$$.
