View Full Version : What year?
I just bought a 1953 Power Wagon and want to just know which year of the 5.9 cummins would be the best to build a street/puller truck with...? I want to be able to street it every day but still be able to take the competition at the pulls..

EFI live tuned CR would be sweet as hell

I dont know much about the CR... Is the any specific year that would be best used? Would you twin turbo that or single?

CR would be bad a$$ but more expensive and harder to install then a old mechanical 12 valve. Single turbo for sure if you wanna compete at the pulls. 2 turbos put you into the big budget classes.

So what do you think? CR with EFI live? Single turbo?

Really depends how you want to street it, an all out 12v and CR will be very close in price. If your just buying used motors then a 12v would be the cheaper route. But EFI is doing some very cool stuff with the CR's you would want a 06-07 swap around pistons and injectors if you felt like it.

I want it to be a daily driver but im fine with driving a full blown puller as a daily rig.

Our definition of a full blown puller are probably way different :hehe:
You sound more like a 12v guy
haha. very true. i didnt think that one through before i said it. im use to big block chevy pullers that can be full blown and street trucks.. not diesels...

Maybe not to install( aside from the zeus) but definitely more expensive to buy. You can pick 12 valves up cheap. CR's not so much.
