Hey everyone,

I was throwing around the thought of maybe getting in to some transport work.

My question/questions to you all are:

What did you do to get in to the business other than truck and equipment of course and what gave you the idea to start.

I am 21 right now and have been thinking about this for sometime.

Thanks a bunch,

Ray

call your local DOT and find out what the insurance requirements are before you start hauling. Might also what to step up tp a DRW truck so you may gross more weight.

I didn't think to call the DOT for that info. I will check in to that.

As you stated a drw truck would be needed and that is something I have also looked in to.

My main reasoning for the post was to see what you all have done to get the work to keep you busy starting from "scratch."

Thanks.

There are some hotshot websites out there that you can look at and find work. Usually someone will post something up that they need moved. A to and from location, how much they are wanting to spend, and then people bid it out. I would google hotshot and see what it brings up. DRW truck is nice and once you get that, you can get a 40' goose neck flat bed and put about anything on there. Car haulers and boats are other big things that are hauled alot with our trucks.

I made a 1k in 3 days but spent 400.00 in fuel so beter have some money saved .my rear end seal poped and I was down for a day and that cost me 300.00 and that sucked. Now I pull some times and only local .latly not worth it with the price of fuel and all. well good luch F/P
