I'm tired of dragging my 30' 9k empty Corn Pro around for stupid little stuff.

I'd like to have myself a lightweight 14k 24ft trailer with a stupidly low deck (at least for a deck over). Deck over the tires is a requirement.

I'm half inclined to go with a split tandem setup using 4 3.5k axles, and I can get 26" radilal 1760lb rated tires, after steel plating the deck over the tires I should be able to get away with a 28" deck.

I have zero experience with split tandems, other than changing the inside tires looks like it would be fun in 6" of wintertime road slop.

Roughly 85% more brake pad than 2 7k axles would be handy too.

Opinions?

I've never owned one, only heard horror stories. They break springs and u-bolt if used on rough terrain and sharp turning.

Econoline trailers call it the multi-max suspension. I know alot of construction companies use them with great luck. It seems goofy to me but it is proven and ha the lowest deck height out of most all trailers I believe. Iv seen many a backhoe hauled on them
