Had a customer call that he was having some Autotrac issues with his 8330. Its a father/son operation, they have a 8270R, 2 8330's, 4850, 2 4450's, and various other tractors...everyone of them has a chrome straight stack. And all of them are washed, cleaned, waxed, vaccumed, and spit shined as soon as they come outta the fields. Got this shot today while i was out there. It sounds dam mean on that 8330.

I'm sure they do sound mean, but to each his own. After spending an entire day in the tractor, I'm sure I'd have had enough. Personally, I like how quiet the 30 series and new R series cabs are. It makes a 14 hour day in one pretty comfortable.

What are they doing in the picture? I've never seen anything like that.

we are the same way with our equipment minus the stack. we have one of the first 50,000 7100 series CASE-IH magnums and it still looks showroom new. so does our 7210. the 1660 combine shows its age a little but its alright. and the rest is well really old.

Didn't get any video, it was a pretty quick ordeal, i just ran out there and did a quick update to his receiver and got him back up and going. We're putting out fertilizer here in central texas and we they go, they want to go. Alot of people in this area still farm on beds, so they put up their beds in the fall and are now coming back with those rigs putting in the fertilizer. Two schools of thought. Some people have a toolbar that the fert. shank goes right down the middle of the bed and and second row of bedding sweeps throws the soil back on top. The others (like whats in that pic) have the fertlizer coming out the tips of the bedding sweeps.

When i say they put a stack on everything, i mean everything. They brought their 6700 sprayer in this morning to get some work done.

the noise from that would get annoying after awhile.

I hate running equipment without a muffler. It's dangerous on a busy job site or street. It looks nice but after an hour or so my ears start ringing.

The father of this operation is like 65-70 and the stacks have always been his idea he tells me. He hears just fine and doesn't mind the sound. To each his own.

Yeah, I'm a Deere salesman. I love my job, finally getting a good customer base and repeat customers. The money isn't great but its not like i'm living paycheck to paycheck. I was selling for Crop Production Services right outta college but that job was way too cut throat, couldn't trust anybody.

They look good, but after spending a day on my buddies Deere 450 C dozer with a straight pipe running full tilt spreading gravel. My ears were ringing when I shut her down at the end of the day and I was wearing ear plugs.
