If its on regular, as in the button on the left, it doesn't blow cold.
If I hit the recirculate button on the right it's colder than hell.
What gives?

Dual zone climate control? The actuators for the blend doors are electric, it has likely **** the bed. If its under warranty, take it in, other wise I can hook you up on that.

No dual zone...it's a plain jane work truck.

I'd still say blend issue, your getting heat recirculate bypasses it.

Im pretty sure the dual and regular units used the same box assy. If is the motor goes bad it will set a code sometimes.

Hmmmm....maybe why I'm getting an intermittent cel?

Very possible, scan it, or have a dealer get in it with a tech2. We can do a calibration that may fix it, but 90% of the time it needs the actuator.

I think I have this same problem in an 04 half ton w/ dual zone. Roachie, where is the actuator located?

I've had a similar issue. Mine would blow ice cold air all day then suddenly turn into a torch. Id cut it off, ride for 20-30 mins, then it may or may not work again. Mine had the dual zone.

Ok, you will need a 1/4 ratchet 5.5mm short socket, and a 7mm deep.

From the passenger floor disconnect the three 7mm bolts that hold the blower/HVAC cover to the HVAC unit. They stick straight up, one is over the trans tunnel and is a PIA.

The actuator has a pair of 5.5mm bolts and that it falls straight down, it is also keyed to the shaft.

That unit only covers the driver side, the passenger side is on the top, under the dash cover.........and it has to come off to access it.

If both sides are hot and it is wanting to stay on defrost is is the main blend actuator. It is next too the steering column, god have mercy on anyone that tries to change it.
