I tried calling a few different days looking for some insight and to order parts, and still nothing. Riding my bike to work is starting to get pretty cold in the mornings, and I'd like to get my truck fixed. This has been a two month nightmare of trying to figure out why my truck has eaten 7 starters. I pulled my trans on Saturday to find this https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/326925_4539950302622_1349891067_o.jpg

I had been told the 5 and 6 speed flywheels were the same, and that you used a starter spacer for the 5 speed. Well with where this ring gear is sitting I'm betting this flywheel was designed for an NV4500. Can you guys shoot me a price on just a 6 speed flywheel? It's for a 3600 ceramic with lever style pressure plate. The cheaper the better, this thing has cost me too much already and I'm just sick of it.

IMHO Id say the clutch manufacturer owes you a free flywheel if it was sent with the clutch as the wrong piece.

That don't look right I don't understand how the fly wheel could be a smaller diameter. They all use the same starter. the nv5600 use the starter spacer.

That is a 5sp ring gear location on the flywheel. Do not use a starter spacer.

Why don't you put a spacer on the starter? The nv5600 use a starter spacer

The 6 speed trucks in 3rd gens already have the spacer as part of the adaptor plate.

You cant remove the starter spacer on a 3rd gen without changing the adaptor plate. The 6 speed trucks have the spacer forged into the casting.

It's not Peters fault.

Thank you sir!

Thank you sir!

the autos and 5 speed trucks wont have the raised area where the 3 bolts are turned in at. It will be flush with the rest of the plate.

You are absolutely right I didn't see that it was a 3rd gen and the spacer is built in. Give me a call and maybe we can help out.

Alright, I'll give it one more try when you guys are back from lunch.

Well tomorrow the trans comes back out, and I'll get that measurement for you. The guys helping me with this are dodge mechanics(we do it at the dealership) and you should see their reaction to me saying I need to measure it. To say they're confused is an understatement. LOL

Thanks Peter!
