Cab Light Delete

So I bought this truck with cab lights, it's a regular cab F250. Unless I change my name to Jose' and plaster a virgin mary on the back glass cab lights have no place on a 2wd reg cab short bed. Other than replacing the roof skin, or welding up the holes, has anyone come up with a good solution to deleting these?

Best I can come up with at the moment is some stainless steel plates shaped like the base of the light and painted to match.
