I am in need of a clutch, might be the original one, which means it has almost a quarter million miles. Looking at a valair, ceramic, something that will hold what I have now, plus a set of sticks and a turbo down the road, so around 450-500hp, and tow heavy once and a while, drag race, etc.

Shoot me a price, pm.

Thanks,
Neil

You say etc?? Sled pulling, I would say a Double Disk, if you don't mind some grabbiness the Con FE works well, but it won't handle boosted launches very well. I know every time I tried to boost mine up to about 7 psi or higher, it would not hold. Now if it is fully engaged, it will handle a lot.

I'm thinking about getting the NMU70253-03, its a full feramic, + the HD hub upgrade, that would hold 550/1050, and be $550, or should I just get the NMU70253-04 that's a full ceramic for another $10?

I would only sled pull once or twice a year, otherwise I would get the dual disc, if I had the money for it.

If you tow the full feramic can be very grabby. I have an FE in my truck and backing up 12K with 3.54 and 285 tires can be fun. It is manageable, just the truck will get to jumping. Press in on the clutch, count to 5 or 10, and go again.

How long will it take to install one of these?

I did mine in about 8-9 hours, taking my time. First time to do a clutch, took my time with everything and didn't get in a hurry at all.

I did have a flywheel ready to go in when I started.

No lift, no tranny jack, just a floor jack and a ratchet strap.

Ok so I bought a valair OFE 13" conversion, looks beautiful. Should be in this weekend, but...

I need some torque specs, such as the flywheel to crank, pressure plate to crank, and bellhousing to engine.

I think I'm going to rent a tranny jack just for some peace of mind, I know we could do it on a regular floor jack, but how do you balence it on there, anywhere in particular I should stick it to lift it?
