I've got a A4000 on my 03 duramax (LB7) i think it is very good, spools very fast.Don't know if my guage is correct but it shows around 48-50 lbs of boost.
A 4000 is a 2.5 inlet, I'm thinking of going to a 3.0 if i can find a good price on a 3.0 my 4000 will be for sale. had it on my truck since July or August 07
