Im looking at a 97 CC SB 4wd F250 7.3 and it has 33x12.50 BFG All terrains on it. The truck looks clean inside and out and has 120,000 on it. The only issue is that it wanders down the road. Are there any issues that are common to this truck. Ive had a 99 7.3 in the past but the OBS is alien to me. Not sure if it could be in the steering box or the ball joints? It will wonder one way then when u correct it, it goes the other way.....repeat.....

Thanks in advance

Nobody.....?

did some more reading and sounds like if the ball joints are good that it could possibly be the axle u-joints? It also doesnt really want to recenter itself after a turn....

Check the steering gear box. It can only be tightened so much before they go out. Every so often, it'll just loose it and I have to stop and crank the wheel both ways before I can drive it safely again. I have to replace mine along with my trac bar and tie rod ends real soon.

It could be any of the front end parts from shackle bushings to tie rod ends, Buy new parts that have a lifetime warranty as i was rebuilding my front end every 30K...

get it aligned. If there are any loose suspension items they will let you know.

i am assuming it has the tbb front end if you ditch that for a d60 it will solve your problem

Sounds like a typical F-250....
Flowmaster has a good idea. Mine drives great but it is a straight axle and rides like a lumber wagon. Never have a lot of trouble with it eating front tires either like some Fords.
Jack it up pry around look for worn parts pry up on the front tire while supporting the axle etc. You'll find something worn no doubt. Get it tightened up and get a GOOD alignment to set it up for you.
Happy repairing and Merry Christmas :D
