View Full Version : Coolant Temp Sensor - Ford/Cummins

Where did you put your coolant temp sensor in the Cummins engine? I put mine in the head inbetween the head studs on the passenger side and haven't seemed to get a correct reading. You can see it in the top left of the pic.

Your picture doesn't show up...

My ford sensor is between the #2 and #3 exh port, passenger side of the head, and seems to work great.

I think its the same here. I got a new sensor from Ford today, I'll see if it works better when I get home.

Mine is a bit further back in the head...but yeah, I used a plugged NPT port and replaced it with the Furd sender and an Autometer one.

When I helped my friend convert an F-350 to a cummins I installed the sender in the stock location on the drivers side rear on the cylinder head !!

I got a new sender from Ford. I had bought one a month ago but was the wrong one apparently. New sender works perfect. I am happy now, all my gauges work.
