Thats what Ive heard of everyone doing ^

However, every inspection Ive ever gotten (I know its not a DPF truck, but still) they have never even looked under the truck. This includes when I had a straight pipe dumped in the middle of the cab. Illegal in all sortsa ways LOL

Must depend on where you're at. My truck has gone on the lift and gotten a thorough underside inspection every year since new before they would give me a new sticker.

definately depends where you're at... I live in a po-dunk town... I had 5" straight pipe on the 12v, and I said "the only thing is it's straight piped" the guy was like "I ain't crawlin' under a dang ol' truck and gettin' all dirty"

the next day I came back and he was gone... I said the same thing to the other kid, and he was like "you still got the resonator on there, right?"

yeah, you betcha... still got the resonator on there :p He passed it

In Ohio you can be permanently exempt for
Non-commercial vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight

While I don't weigh that, they do not have scales and use the GCVW, (I think that is the value on the door)

My exhaust is dumped just behind the cab. I lived in Texas for 6 yrs in Abilene and NEVER did they go under my truck looking for the exhaust. Hell, the crack that spans my windshield from top to bottom only got mentioned once. And even then the guy just asked if I was going to get it fixed. If your getting a thorough inspection like Nummit your in the wrong place. LOL

I bet the small town podunk folk will pass it now....but its only a matter of time til TxDOT catches up with them. Even on pre-DPF trucks, the law in Texas was changed within the last year about mufflers. In Texas a turbo no longer qualifies as a muffler.

All the law says is it has to have a muffler, I asked our local inspection station and he had just come back from a class and DPF's were not mentioned. That was four monthes ago though so it could changed I guess.

the only thing we have around here is a noise voliation, like Jaman said as long as it has a muffler its fine i think its mostly toward gassers

Got mine inspected at two different places in Tyler since my DPF removal. Tyler has about 90,000 people, but it's still East Texas. Everyone and their girlfriends drive trucks. No one has even looked at my exhaust. Hell, they didn't know what year model my truck was until they asked.

Just take a 6 pack of light with you when you go, and most will just write out the sticker. :D

Wow......in Florida they took our inspections away when I was a kid. Even then my Dad's $10.00 always got the job done for his trucks.

Good god what's up with all these inspections?? Hope they don't decide to do anything like that here in Kentucky
