That would be sick...at the very least you could carbon wrap some existing stacks...

they would be sick for sure!!! id test a pair for em, to see what they can stand up to as far as heat and abuse LOL what i would personally like are CF side pipes....with a Y pipe like used in the stack kit under the truck and an exit under each door.

Hmm, dunno how well those would work. And I doubt the powers at "B" here would go with the idea.

If you look in the import world they already run the C/F exhaust tips..... Just a thought.

Josh to me something like this would be HUGE. Might wanna go knock on that bosses door again.......

What is the performance aspect of it? To me it would seem more "looks" than performance. Of coarse on a drag truck, lighter stacks makes the truck lighter.

Exactly and LOOKS ! C/F is a huge seller nowadays.....

Think of the possibilities, 4" C/F kits, 5" C/F kits and so on, not that difficult to work with C/F from what i understand about it either.....

So far this is all I could find.....33

That right there is almost $35.00. Cant imagine what a 5" 36" long one would cost!:aiwebs_029:

I have tried to purchase some carbon fiber material to make up a set of stacks- but the big supplier that I contacted said he has NONE available til Jan. of next year!!! We discussed what I wanted to use it for and I was told -No problem:ylsuper: - I need to get the High Temp Resin to set it......

Now I gotta locate another supplier- that has some to sell!:dead-horse-fast2:

But I aint gonna give up just yet!:evil

The new Porche GT's use carbon fiber breaks. Seems like heat wouldnt be an issue at all LOL.

RacinDuallie
06-21-2006, 05:55 PM
I Was told when you use the right resin, heat is not an issue....

We have a Carbon Fiber Driveshaft in our 05 Mustang GT. It's strong, not sure about the heat characteristics.

we sell a lot of carbon fiber products, the problem is carbon fiber is in a very high demand. it's all going to the goverment for the war effort. i have been waiting on some c/f hoods for almost 6 months.

So there is resin that can stand up to 6-800 degrees?

house
03-02-2007, 01:16 AM
800 wont cut it its still hot at the stack, ive lasered egt my stakc after a pull it was at 1200

Pat T.
03-02-2007, 05:09 AM
Depends on what type of carbon fiber, it's not all the same, and there is also different types of resin. Most of the CF isn't going to the war effort, it is going to japan for a new aircraft being built for a certain aircraft company.
