Schedule (FSR AFTER the Indy Jambo, not before)was wrong for London, this year, and cotpc was not interested. We tried.

So... you plan to invite 33 pullers per class (15 NADM pulls "Top two at each" plus an extra 3 at Numidia) plus the top two points leaders for the affiliate associations. Who are the affiliate associations?

Sledpuller
07-11-2009, 12:26 PM
I don't have a set number. Any affiliate pull on the schedule, check the associations.

You were invited last year Mike and didn't come, you miss it this year, even if you win every event, their wont be enough qualifying to get you back on the list.

2 tone you better go win something In MO. I made the mistake last year of letting a few fish in. One was adding water to the radiator as it pulled onto the track.

Another group threatened the announcer, enough so security had to come down.(permanently banned, from that event)

That was the image we were looking for.:bang

Ya, you should go ahead and run the mod class. No need to mess with us small timers in Super Street!!:hehe: I think we have the motor where we want it. Making the turbo swap and going ahead and putting the water injection on it. Hopefully we will be competing for the top spot out in Indy. You are in luck- one class only. You qualified in both, so its your choice.
That track is hard on Cepeks.

Order, excepting a wet track:

Mods
SS
2.6
2.8.

Any 2.8 or SS trucks that still want a shot to qualify, pm before Saturday, the 15th, August.

That was actually directed at cumminsconvoy and I was just kidding. As great as it would be to win of course on a big pull like this. I'm happy with getting down the track this year. First year and still learning. But we have made a couple changes on the truck to where I think we will compete by Indy. PA gave me a real good feel for the truck. Got some more gears for the profab, got out of that 2.8 non bushed charger, and trying like hell to get the 35's put on. Now I have to pull the injection pump off and have it fixed, put the water injection on and I think were good to go. :rockwoot:

I liked where we stayed last year. It wasn't far at all I didn't think. 15 minutes if I remember. But the Candlewood Suites were nice. And they had good parking for us as well. Picking a different trailer to party at this year though. I got stuck cleaning that mess up all morning just to get my trailer out of there!! Partying on Garretts trailer this year!:rockwoot:

Pulling will be around 1:00 pm, at the mercy of the mud racers. However, I would highly suggest being outside the gate when they open in the am.

If you are still stuck in traffic when we start, sorry!!

I think this was the biggest motorsports event I had been to other than the Brickyard. I would definately try and be at the gate waiting for them to open them. I saw the line after about 10a.m. and it didn't look fun sitting there for an hour waiting in their vehicles.

Garrett's truck won't be there, but mine will be.

2 turbos + 457 foot pull + sled that can't stop him + sled operator too stupid to pull the kill switch = melted piston.

My bad...it wasn't the sled operators fault for the engine melting down. That was just a sh!t happens thing. But the sled operator chewing our asses for not stopping? That's his own damn fault. The flagger had the green flag out. He should have pulled the kill switch.

If he had pulled the kill switch and it had waisted a charger then you would complain about that so whats the differnce. Sometimes the restraint has to come from the driver!

Agreed! should have been out of it way before 457 nobody's fault but his own. As a driver you have to use some common sences. the sled operator had every right to chew you out, i mean if he says 300 and you just past it at 35 mph then he probally not going to stop you at 300

But, I'm not going to hit the brakes and get hit in the ass by the sled either, so whatever. **** happens.

I'd much rather have the kill switch pulled then have a ton of body work to perform on the truck.. I think you know what that's like Jeremy!

It was a 350ft track by the way.

We also nearly dropped a valve due to it almost pulling through a billet keeper.

Guys,
I have had wayyy too many phone calls this week "tattleing" on one truck or another for petty crap.:bang Hood stacks, hand throttles, funny hitches, blah, blah.
One email said basically, he was going to make his truck illegal also, if we were going to allow it. That would be a good way to watch the pull from the stands.

Does anyone remember what sportsmanship is?

The pull hasn't even happened yet, give us a chance to do our jobs. I'd say half the field changes parts from one pull to the next. So wherever you got beat last week, doesn't mean those parts are going to be on it this week!!!

Let NADM officiate, you pull your truck. If you think the winner was cheating, protest it.

Just a thought but if there was wayyy too many phone calls over that stuff i would think that would be an indication of something needing addressed. As in exact rules. I would say that the people doing the "tattleing" are tired of following the rules then showing up and seeing things on certain people's trucks be allowed mainly because of who they are. Sportsmanship is always having your truck abiding by the rules and not having anything questionable by anyone else. It shouldn't ever have to be the game of "well they can run it so why can't we??" Definately not trying to start a big fuss, I'm just an outsider looking in. Brian

Not with us Brian. They are going to other pulls(most times with different rules, or poor teching)and assuming we are going to let it slide also.

There was a 2.8 truck last year at Indy that found himself in Super Street. We aren't shy about bumping or tossing.

To be invited you had to place in the top two at most of there events and top 5 at numidia. Also if you won an affiliate series.

Example, brad hodler. Qualified at an affiliate event. Payed 1 time hook fee with both trucks in case he didn't qualify. Well he did qualify. So... He joined at the event. Cost him $120 to pull yesterday. And a little FYI. He finished 5th in 2.6 and blew a boot. The truck was still running very hard when it happened. It had many more feet to go. That truck has run for many years very well with a completely stock lower end. Congrats to him. Had a great time. Great event

That is the fun part of this pull you know that every truck that hooks to the sled has a chance to beat you Thanks NADM for another great show you guys did a great job.

Ohio and Ky swept the field in the 2.6.....:woohoo:

Thanks Nick, nice pass by you as well...

we were at indy. i am a little confused about how some of these 2.6 trucks qualified. about 6 of these trucks were legit top trucks, the rest couldnt win our local fairs. must be who you know more than your truck.there are 4 ky. trucks that could easily finished top 10 but the fans didnt get to see them.if you want a good show invite the BEST trucks, not your best friends.

My suggestion to you sir, is to take your truck, gather up your best pullers from your local fairs, join NADM, and do what it takes to qualify for Indy. You will be welcomed by both officials and fellow competitors. Fifty percent of those running will be in the bottom half of the class. It dosn't mean they are bad trucks. At the conclusion of the pull you will know you were running with some of the best trucks in the country. You will feel good about being there..... Trust me.

If you pull at an NADM event you will be a member.

The Indy Invitational is a "reward" pull for Friends of the NADM. You help us promote Diesel Motosports, we help you, by putting you front of 10,000 fans.. and dozens of potential sponsors that normally do not see Diesel trucks.

The only way to guarantee your spot was to place 1st or second at an NADM event, top 5 at Numidia, win last years Indy, be a points leader at an affiliate event SERIES. There were a few bonus chances over the year also.

Or get yourself in a position where I owe you a favor. Like Matt Williams. A good truck from Kentucky. He missed our pulls this year but helped us out when we were short handed.
Sadly, Matt decided that a few Kentucky brush pulls were more important, and didn't bother to tell me, so he lost his favored Kentucky truck status. You wont see him at Indy next time.

The best way NOT to get invited? Never come to a pull, dont be a member, and badmouth NADM for not picking your buddies who we don't even know exist.
And dont call me at 1:00 am Saturday morning before the pull.

As far as the best trucks? Points leaders and winners, everyone one of them from somewhere. Although, half the field was working on their trucks clear up to the time they were hooking to the sled, from the very first truck to the very last. :doh:Shame on all of you last minute mechanics for not bringing your A-game for the fans. Nobody wants to watch you have the hoods up and wrenches out.

Excellent pull as the videos show, cant wait til next year !!!

If the truck ruins the markers down, DQ.

Fortunately, it doesn't appear to be anything too major...* :woohoo: Thanks to the guys who helped us change the tires -- we didn't get your names, but if you're on here, let us know -- we really appreciate your help!!*

Calvin you had a great hook. I was yellin for ya man! So was my wife :hehe: I had a very good time. Learned alot of things about the truck and the new set up we tried. One being tire pressure is a big factor on how the truck goes down the track:bang If it weren't for Van Haisley and Matt Gilmore I would have never got down the track. So big thank Van and SmokinCummins. I think this event opened alot of peoples eyes to diesel sled pulling. With pulling before the monster trucks. EVERYONE was in the stands and on their feet yelling during the pull. The mod trucks really got them going. Glad to see TONS of people supporting our sport. Can't wait til next year. Great job NADM. And big thanks to Charlie at AirDog as well to help make it happen!:rockwoot:

Sorry you had some bad luck, would have like to seen you make a full run. Little advice get some G2 cepeks or pitbulls for the back of your truck the G1 that you put on are not good on diesel trucks they are to soft and if thats all you have they need alot more air in them,$.02

Thanks a lot to NADM for the oppurtunity to particapate in the 2.6 class. We had a really good time. I did not find out till wednesday night that I was invited for this show and made the decision to load up and leave after work on friday night and drive all night 10 hours to be there. It felt special to be there as one of the top trucks and I look foward to trying to be there again next year. Thanks again J.P.

I looked up saw you guys changing tires, and thought you must be extreme hard core pullers to change your tires 5 mintes before the pull for an exhibition hook!!

Expect to see a gasser trash vs Diesel vs alcohol, vs turbine class next year.

my friend jim is dieing to run a b series on alcohol..

No problem Mike! We know how it goes... You'd better hurry up and get to New York -- the snow could be flying here by next week! :bang :hehe:

Were you at the Texas Roadhouse Saturday night? Thought we saw you in the parking lot when we were leaving, but we didn't want to look like idiots and stop and find out it was someone else... Had the kiddos with us - had been a long day for them so we were in a hurry as well to get them back to the motel for some much needed sleep.

my friend jim is dieing to run a b series on alcohol..

I'm surprised it hasn't been done yet....lots of hidden power in these motors when a different fuel is introduced.

Troy Wakeman broke 2 axles Friday night and couldn't make it. If him and Matt Williams would have made it. That 2.8 class would have been loaded. Not to bad for a little brushpull.:poke:

I told Vance it was time to go the drop box reverser route, we haven't broken any driveline parts all year. Truck is obviously making some good power.

The track improved as the class progressed. Different pulling order could have changed things. Especially for "Double Overtime".
