can we enter in more than one event

cranked_dodge
07-30-2009, 10:21 AM
Yeah you should be able to enter into more than one event, but you have to remember that there is big racers coming for pro street. You would be better off to stick in super street because they will take the top 16 in each Division so if you register in Super street you will pretty much be able to go to Boise.

What classes are you wanting to run in?

Also, just a reminder,

You must purchase a separate tech card for each class you compete in.

08-11-2009, 06:28 PM
A 2wd on street tires? That sounds hard to believe.. not that I am worried, i am too heavy to make too much noise anyways,, weighed my truck yesterday, 3100 kg with me in it and a 1/2 tank of fuel. I think that is around 6800# about 300 less than last year

Well afer 17 hours of driving we are here. There are a ton of trucks here already, and so far I saw Doctor P , The Dirty Max, Mike Drever and many more, Should be a great event tomorrow , off to watch the Sled Pulls

Michael
08-15-2009, 09:28 AM
Sled pulls were great. I didn't know all the people, but I think in the top class Charr Drever took 2nd and Mike from CT Performance took 4th. A bunch of us stayed up late "bench racing" here at the main hotel. They finally kicked us out of the bar, then the parking lot, and we finally gave up and called it a night. It will be a busy day today, trying to race the same 2 trucks I ran last year (DirtyMax and the Randys Off Road truck).

It was rainy as heck on the way here (and there was actually some snow on the ground on the way here), but the rain stopped and it looks great for the races (although a bit foggy this morning).

Congrats on the birth of your son, Shawn!!! Sorry to hear about the truck damage, but it looked good running!

Yup, Mike ran those times, it was awesome. I am personally amazed that in this "down" economy this event was friggin' PACKED again. I guess they have never heard of a recession up here. ET brackets had 96 trucks, Super Street had 16 trucks, and Pro Street and Pro Stock had 3 trucks each. This morning the fog was so thick that I had to wait for my GPS to boot up to find the track. Literally it was visibility of about 200' (or 60.98 metres to the locals). When I saw that kind of weather I was afraid it would be a minimal turnout, but apparently those in Alberta don't think of this weather as much of a deterrent. We were treated to a gorgeous day of sun and great racing.

The following is all based on my potentially faulty recollection, which may be clouded by the after-hours party and certain rowdy individuals (and you all know who you are so I won't mention you by name).

I can't recall the name of the guy who won Sportsman ET, but Donovan Harris took runner-up after beating me in the semis. He and I had one of those awesome races where both drivers cut great lights and ran close to their dial-ins, and one of them ran just a little bit better. Donovan and I seem to be swapping wins against each other, and each one is like that. I get the next one, Donovan!!!

Super-Street was won by Aaron Schaff, who ran a 10.15 in the final, showing that he has to horsepower to run in the same group as Max'd Out. I managed to forget the name of the guy who got runner up, but he was running a 6.4L Ford/Navistar, and he was part of our small group hanging out in the parking lot last night. Sorry, I'm bad with names when I don't have anything to write it on...

As mentioned above, Mike Drever won Pro Street, with Shaun Inkster getting runner-up.

Kenny Laughlin (owner of Dr. Performance) stepped in to drive the Pro-Stock truck normally piloted by Charlie Stewart (who was away due to a family emergency). Over dinner tonight I learned that Kenny ran Top Alcohol Dragster a few years ago (when some friends of mine were also running the class), and also ran fuel Funny Car. I lost to Kenny in the final, when I pushed through the lights with the DirtyMax truck. Kenny previously set low ET of the race with an 8.56. I qualified 2nd with a 9.44. The DirtyMax truck had a problem with the transmission brake, so I was stuck with foot braking it (with additional holding power from the trans brake once I was staged). In the final, knowing I was giving up around 0.900 to Kenny, I tried to light the chargers for all it was worth. Unfortunately it was more than the brakes and trans brake could hold, and I pushed through the beams. Once I realized I was pushing through, I hammered it to see if we could get a decent ET. Unfortunately I did not get an ET, but the truck made the best feeling pass i have ever made in it. Earlier in the day, the shift light had been turning on at about the mph cone, but on this pass it turned on before the 1000' mark and continued to pull hard beyond that. Based on the "butt dyno" of running low-9's in my gasser car, I believe that pass was between a 8.85 and 8.95 at around 145-148 mph.

Michael Pliska

We are still making our journey home but man I tell you Division 6 really stepped up to the Plate, I have over 24 trucks confirmed that are making the trip to Boise in October and a bunch more that said they are 80% sure they will be there.

I will get times poster when we get home but i tell you the Super Street Catagory is crazy up here in Canada

20 trucks qualified in Super Street and 8 of them poster runs in the 10's:rockwoot:

After driving in the rain for 17 hours I wasn't sure we were even going to have a race, it was still raining when Randy and I were putting up banners Friday... But the weather cooperated and we got to put on a great event. I must say the Castrol Raceway crew was top notch, there were a few oil downs that got taken care of as quickly as possible and we got right back to racing. Also a big thanks to Barry and the NADP crew, especially Diane who helped me in the staging lanes, actually I think I was helping her LOL. I hope everyone had a great time, from where I was standing all day the racing looked pretty good. I really only got to watch the finals and I am glad I did. Mike Dreaver can drive, that last pass the truck looked like a handfull and he kept it pointed down track. Mike Pliska had an awesome run the last pass with the DirtyMax, pretty cool watching a truck pull a tire off the ground, too bad he pushed the lights. I'm still coughing from all the tire smoke from the burnout contest... a quick 13 1/2 hour drive home and this event is in the books. Should I thank our bartender Ashley? LMAO... I really want to thank all the racers, teams, sponsors, and vendors who showed up to make this a great event, if you all don't show then there is no event to put on, and you all made this trip more than worthwhile. I really enjoyed this event a lot and getting to meet a lot of new racers, and some old faces I had not seen in awhile. thanks again everyone, see you in Boise !!!!!!!
