Hey Guys,
Silverline Exhaust wants a Competition Diesel Members help with a little project that they will be documenting in 8-Lug Diesel Truck Magazine(and quite possibly a few other magazines as well. ). As many of you already know, Silverline is introducing Black Chrome Stacks, and they would like one of our members to have a set installed for the magazine. You will be able to buy a set of black Chrome Turnouts for Wholesale cost($425.00) have them professionally installed at Garmon's Diesel Performance in McDunnough, GA, and the whole install will be documented in an upcoming Issue of 8-Lug magazine. We are in a bit of a time crunch here, so here is what we need you to do if you want to help them out:

Post up a frew pics, a brief summary of your mods, and your location in this thread. You will need to be willing to drive to Garmon's Diesel in McDunnough for the install. Representatives from Silverline will be making the decision on who gets the article, so keep an eye on your email and PM's here. We will be accepting applications until Febuary 7th and we will make the announcement on Febuary the 8th. You will need to be available sometime between February 10th and 17th for the install.

Thanks To Silverline and Jeff Garmon for the Awesome opportunity! :thankyou2:

Do you have a pic of the "Black Chrome" Id like to see it..
I have a 2001 F-350 CC LWB 2WD ISLAND BLUE in color. TS Performance 6-position chipper switch,Torque Converter lock-up by TS and a drop in AFE filter.4 inch turbo back exhaust(but that don't matter does it). 328 HP 678 TQ Detroit Locker running factory 3:73 gear, Runs the 1/4 mile in 15.00sec (maybe better). It has 109k miles on it and has never been opened up. The trans has a SunCoast TC with pump up grade and shift kit.It also has a Johnny Bravo action figure hangin on the vent on the dash.

SOMEBODY PLEASE PASTE PIC OF MY TRUCK HERE...

One question: Do I get to choose the height and turnout angle of the stacks??

I will do it!!!!!!!!!

Only if they can adjust the all the angles to my specifications.

#1. Must run from down pipe to rear of truck.
#2. must split into dual exhaust.
#3. must exit behind rear tire.

and ...they must be free of charge, i dont pay for advertising

LOL....stacks wouldn't work with my cap.

The Big Kid
01-30-2007, 08:41 PM
How long does the install take? How much time do they want the truck for?

I ask as I do have a couple planets aligning so far:

the good -
I happen to have that week (Feb 12-16) off work
The wife says I can go, if she can come too
RV has been sitting still for too long, almost the whole winter!!

The Bad -
It might take me til the 12th to get there, and I have to leave by friday morning
This being Canada, my luck, a major snowstorm would shut down the entire northeast and I wouldn't make it anyway.
I don't really have any mods to note, planning some, but none yet.

KingS

I would do this definetly but my truck is at schied's getting fire ringed and 14mm studs since 12mm weren't doing the job. Problem is it will be after that time when I get it back but I think those would be sweet on my red dodge.

As long as you can get to Garmon's between the 10th and the 17th we should be okay, and serious mods are not a requirement. You should definitely get a pic up. The install wont take long, Id say no more than a few hours. It will probably take a bit longer than normal to do the install to allow time for good pictures for the magazine article, but nothing crazy at all.

Thank You, also I have a Tranferflow tank in my truck with the stacks.

02-01-2007, 10:52 AM
Here is how I cured it. Just run a single. Duals look cool, but a single works for me. And I'm not willing to donate 6 inches of bed space just for a dang pipe to cross the front. Can you imagine the amount of hay and leaves that would accumulate behind the tank if I would have moved it back? Sounds like a fire to me! I clean out my little corner ever now and then. It stays pretty clean. The pipe doesn't get all that hot and the amount of fuel in the aux tanks sinks the heat pretty well so I'm not worried about it being so close.

don't worry about cover I have a access cover I payed 400 for and I am going to cut into it.
I am making a sheet metal color to match my truck, but I am making it to go across the bed from one side to the other and seal off at the bottom and side, from what is left of the bed once stacks are in.
Then two pieces will branch off and go to the front of the bed to form a box shape in the corner of the bed where the stack is then I am having my cover hemd and stitched so it won't fray or tear, and putting snaps on the flaps that fold down and snap to the sheet metal so once stacks are in the bed the bed is still sealed off from the weather and nothing can slide foward and hit the pipe when I have it in the bed such as luggage ect and won't get wet.

I currently need this for many reasons. 1st. would have to be, I backed my truck into a guardrail and pushed my exaust up to my bed. It rattled so bad, and would not go back to its original position, I just cut it off.So now i have a straight pipe just under my cab, sounds great lol....2nd reason would have to be, I've got 3 Damn Kids that suck my truck fund dry. 3rd. would be in the same catagory with kids. My oldest is addicted to motocross and its worse than Crack and more expensive. 4th. Would have to involve the Wife. She never wants me to spend money on my truck. She wants me to do home improvments and crap like that. Tim can relate to that, cant you Tim....So pick my truck and make my life a little easier. I also want to one up my brother-in-law. I would be the envy of my town. All the convertibles will LOVE ME.....Good luck to everybody! :st:

I've been afraid my local friends would call me a RedNeck. ...Well, this may be a shock to all that know me, but I have recently been informed that I may actually BE a 'Neck! :what:
so what the heck...I'd love to see my favorite toy in a magazine anyway!

I make it to most of the major events, & I can be at Jeff's on very short notice. (always looking for an excuse!)
