Hey guys my boss has an 04 duramax which i think is an LBZ but im not for sure and thinks its got a bad injector in it and the dealer wont warranty it because it has a salvage title and they said they could get him new injectors for like $3400. Im wondering if there is any after market ones u can get or any other place that sells them cheaper? Its just a work truck so he dont need to be bigger just the stock oem type injectors.

Thanks Jason.

04 will be either LB7 or LLY...look at the VIN number, if the 8th digit is a 1 then its a LB7, if the 8th digit is a 2 then its a LLY. I would personally find a different dealer to do warranty work, but you are pushing the 7 year time frame that the injectors are covered.

they cover the injector up to 200,000 miles and his truck only has 140,000 on it but they wont warranty it because of the salvage title

Yea, since the title they can't be sure if it's the original motor. You can find single injectors on ebay or call huckstorf diesel in WI

Jason, you can find aftermarket ones for cheaper, but it isnt gonna be like changing the injectors in our 24 valvers. They are a PITA. I say give huckstorf a call, or possible pure diesel power. They could probably put in stock replacements for less than 3400

Alright Thanks guys. I looked at pure diesels website and they sell bosch remans for $309 a piece thats about a grand cheaper then through the dealer. I know its a PITA but my boss used to be a diesel machanic so he should be able to do it pretty easily. Ill check out Huckstorf too just to see.
