View Full Version : Waste gate refurb?

Sorta got my truck running this weekend, but had alot of problems, one of them was the wastegates would not seal up. Is it normal to have some side to side play on the stem? What is the best lubricant to lube them up? Am I missing something here? There are 3 springs too, seems to be pretty good force on them.

Who's 'gates? I had to de-carbon mine since it stuck closed last year. I can't find it now, but Synapse Engineering had recommended a certain type of grease to use with theirs.

They are ED gates

White lithium grease? Some have mentioned anti-seize.

I havent had a chance to call the boys yet. Just got home about an hour ago

The starter,, well it turned out to be the adaptor plate.. the one that was on there was 5/8 inch thicker in the starter area then the one I had on the old engine. Changed that out and solved that issue
