 OK, I know this is going to be a silly, vague question but try to follow my thoughts if you will :) My truck is slow, I will not argue that. Today I got to race a mostly stock D-max/Allison in a short bed ext cab chevy. I think it was an 05 model if I remember right. The only mods to the D-max was a 4" exhaust system (have no idea what brand)

Off the line he got a little jump, I was back even with him by 10mph and stayed dead even up to 80mph, then from 80-90 he started to pull away from me a little, but not much. I let off at 90 as we were in a 75mph zone and figured my wife would not be impressed with me getting a ticket :)

So, my truck is heavier by a decent amount (long bed, ext cab 4wd dodge) and I was kinda wondering just what a stock D-max can do so I kinda know where I'm sitting right now.

Anyone care to guess at what my 1/4 mile times would be or HP numbers based off such poor, limited, non-scientific, almost worthless data :D

Thanks for any ideas here, sorry for such a dumb question.

George

If your correct on the model year then it would have been an LLY version of the engine. That model makes about 250 RwHp stock.

If it was stock like you say, that truck would probably run mid-low 16s in the 1/4.

250ish HP, probably high 16's depending on launch in the quarter mile. With your trucks weight you probably have a little more power to the ground!

270 RWHP and about 490 RWT. Also, I'd say high 15s, low 16s in the quarter.

Cool, thanks guys :) I found out today that he has exhaust and intake, but no programming yet. I figured my truck for a 18 second ride, so finding out that I should be running high 15's to low 16's makes me feel good about it:rockwoot:
