Have a 06 cr with full race machine work, pistons coated teflon/ceramic,cam,girdle,ddp200,smarty.quadzilla box,etc... twin setup being installed now at a shop in salt lake area s373/s483 i think. the cp3 kit is not installed nor the fuel pump. was wondering about driving it from salt lake to the upper penninsula of michigan without installing the rest of the fuel mods. All highway miles...26 hrs of them :-(
Is this a wise idea?
Thanks

Seems like it would get enough fuel to power it down the road at 70 mph without overheating?I'm Probably wrong though. Thanks Joel

Trying to figure out whats the best dual cp3/lift pump setup also

maybe, it might only fash some codes. low fuel psi or low rail psi ur somthin. Is there a reason, i guess thats the real Q. Why can't u just do those things before the trip?

AhHa.. i would give Todd a cal at T&C Diesel. He is or has a wiring harness to run dual pumps without the stupid controllers that come with the kits. Pretty cheap from what i understand too. Then u could use anyones kit hassle free, i have I.I.'s kit with two modded floor it pumps.
As far as lift pumps i'd suggest a Hellman sump with at least a AD200 or dual 150s to each pump...never have a fueling issue!

Just trying to get it home before it gets too cold, with the compression issue. Hate to be stuck at some hotel till next summer lol

I don't see the issue. If the stock fuel system is intact then it would have no problem driving, you're just not going to make a lot of power because if you get aggressive with the throttle you will be pulling the rail pressure down low.

Why would it over heat from running a small amount of fuel with a large amount of air?

thats just the scuttlebut i've been hearing (over heating)

x2.

Id like to see how that 13.5:1 is going to start in the winter too. Also why did you use a 73/83 twins set? maybe a 66/88 or something, but I would think a 73/83 is not a good match.

If you can't fuel it prior to the drive then I'd just run the stock tune with the Smarty, maybe even run the "0" tune which is Half power. With 200's, in theory, that'd be like running 100's on a stock CP3. Which has been done plenty of times... And buy stock in either! if you plan to ever shut it down. Good luck. I don't evny you a bit. I agree with Bodie on the charger combo, you might wanna recheck those specs, that's way off.

Doesn't sound crazy, just your low compression for a DD that's the only "crazy part".

Why aren't they putting on your fuel system?

was just trying to rush it along so as to beat the cold weather...having it hauled now so time does'nt matter so much. Gonna have RKL finish the whole project. Who makes the best dual cp3 setup now?
This truck will only be driven in summer months at sea level about once a month as i work out of town. Live in the country and the cops get a bang out of the smoke so all is cool there.
The tranny is an ATS stage 6...ryan at RKL went through it and changed the shafts to real billet, changed the stall on the converter etc...
Going with Intro wheels,Big fat Mother Efing MT single on rear ...mostly for looks.
and on and on and on ...
