I just bought a galaxy dx939 and a 3' wilson magnet mount antenna. Curious how you guys have them mounted. I'm thinking about getting a geno's garage mount but I haven't seen any pictures yet so I don't want to pull the trigger just yet. Anyone running Geno's cb mount?

I didnt realize that people really used cb's much anymore. What channel do most use? I have a cb in motorhome and never seem to hear any chatter

I run 19 on the freeway unless I'm close to work then I run 34 because that's what the fleet of trucks our guys drive and companies that haul for us run. 19 is pretty much the universal trucker channel and there is usually some chatter on the freeway. They will usually spot cops, wrecks, etc and stuff like that.

The one in the Jeep is on ch 8...because that's what we use on the trails.

our trucks, loaders, pickups, and office all use two way radios, but we all have CB's too

I run a maxed out Connex 3300HP on a Wilson 5000 mag mount in my 99. I don't use it as much as I used too around here because some of the buzz dropped out since our local radio shop closed & moved to the next county over a few months back. 239 CB SHOP (http://www.239cbshop.com)

I've had the Geno's mount, and personally its nice but I built the same thing for just a few bucks in my own garage with my mig welder. I just took some flat 1" wide metal measured and drilled holes for them to bolt into the two front center console holes and then bent them up 90*. Then held the radio up to see how high it needed to be to not put the coax into a bind and welded a strip across the front of the two 90* pieces and screwed my CB mounting bracket to it. Simple easy took me 20 minutes to build, and then I just slapped some black spray paint on it.

Geno's mount didn't work CB was too big so I just mounted it on the dash. Blocked my ash tray but I don't use it anyways, and it clears the transfercase shifter by a quarter inch, and my 5 speed in 1st gear by about a half inch.

I did the same thing, but i used a 1in aluminum strap and just bent in the vise and bolted it to the floor. works killer.

i did somewhat the same thing but i couldnt get the swrs low enough so i had to go with a regualr mount with a whip seems like thats the only way my 4600 turbo connex likes it

I got an old Cobra 19 LTD that's had a little secret squirell work. I just use a mag-mount K-40 on top of the truck. I only pull it out and use it when my brother-n-law and I run cattle together and need to "smokey and the bandit" the city traffic. Cell phones kinda put the delete on the CB usage.

Call radio shack and ask them if they have CB handles. LOL

I run a tuned-up Connex 3300 HP w/ a Road King mic and a Wilson 1000 magnetic mount. I like the Wilson magnetic mount antenna because it uses the top of the cab as a ground plane and if I sell my truck I keep the antenna & no marks are left from the antenna. My swr's are at a 1.1, and the Wilson/Connex combo has great "ears" so it both hears & talks well. I travel around and through Atlanta regularly, so a CB is a standard staple...unless I want to sit in shut-down traffic for hours! And that's very common around these parts...

I mounted my radio above the cupholders in my 2006 Mega, with the screws tied in on the bottom side of the recessed part of the dash panel. That way if I sell the truck the holes won't be an eyesore. I made my brackets from an old center hump floor mount that I had. Seems to work good so far!
