tst 3gsk?

i bought a tst 3gsk spring kit and it says to get to the springs go through the top of the pump.my question is can i go through the side of the pump?which is best,or which is easery?pro and cons to them both thanks.and do i really need calipers?i read something about clicks.and the position of the slots in the nut.i guess i just dont understand.thanks

yes... go through the side. I have never ever done springs through the top of the pump. I think that it would be too tricky and just an all around PITA to do them through the top of the pump.
