im building twins right now s475 over a s595 and everthing's working good except the charge pipe to intercooler. Im thinking of going straight off the trubo to the intake. Would water or nitrous be enough to cool or should i figure away to make an intercooler work.

I already use nitrous to spool so its no big deal to spray. and help will be great thanks

not sure, but I tellya what, put your hand on the hot side of my intercooler pipe and let me know what ya think, that thing gets HOT !

for the couple hours more fab work, I say run the intercooler.

Find Morkables thread about hte same topic. I posted comparison numbers and I'm too lazy to post them all again.

Yes it will be enough. (General answer)

Whats the goals?

How is the truck driven? As in street time. Driven hard?

Depends on what you are going to do with the truck.

mostly track, but it will be driven around town some, im sure it will not see boost unless its at the track though

Then water/meth would work perfect. You could do a progressive or a two stage setup. Either would work for what your trying to do.

I am going to be running without a IC, for me it is a weight thing. I feel that the loss of weight is better than the HP gain with the IC. I dont have hard data to back that up yet

i think it may spool faster also, by the air only having to travel 16" instead 8' or so, im gona try it and see how it goes.

I melt more pistons running without an IC. Water/nitrous, just water or just nitrous; all have run hotter in my application than a proper intercooler. The power difference was an eye opener. I will run an air/water the next pass down the track.

How many have you melted running either?

How much water/meth or nitrous were you running to cool the charge?

I got one with an intercooler, 6 with nitrous, 2 with water and 1 running without any cooling.

3qts/10seconds with water or 8lbs/10seconds nitrous.

This intercooler biz is always back and forth. One person says aftermarket cooler makes a night and day difference, another will say it is a waste of money keep the stock one, another will say throw it in the trash and run water for weight difference.

nitrous only, no air, that would be an idea to try diesel power...... just think, no need for turbo, just pressurize plenum with nos !!!!!! :rockwoot:

^^^ at the cost of nos and the cost for the 30 bottles needed to do this effectively... turbos seem cheap in comparison.:lolly:

You drug addicts crack me up. Nitrous should run in a class with the gas cars.
