  • It went bad a couple of years ago when I was down at that big Super Stock Race in Florida. We tried everything to figure out what was going on and shutting the truck down it never showed a code but would just shut the motor off under a hard launch. I would clear the codes with the smarty and the engine would start up and run. How I found it was I remembered I had had the fan off before the race because I was working on the motor and it ran fine and that was the only change I made before going to Florida. The bad thing was I didn't think about it while I was at the race but at home. I ended up putting on a flexilite electric fan kit they work great but are heavy.
    Bruce, when you had your fan clutch go bad did you replace the fan clutch or go with electric fans? I just had mine go bad, and I'm thinking about replacing it with flex -a-lite fans.
