  • Heya Adam. I had a question about your GM console in your 2nd gen. What did you do in order to get that fit up as nicely as you did? I am very big on having a full center console rather than a bench seat, and I found your posts a while back and didn't even hesitate to order the console. Now it's here and I just had to shoot you a message. Haha! Thanks for the response if any.
AHall, I have some questions about the VP. You seem to be quit knowledgeable about this pump. I've been a member on these forums for about a decade but it seems some members know a lot and some members merely post a lot. I need quality answers and unfortunately I dont have the required minimum 10 posts to PM you otherwise I would. If you can, please email me at steve2007108@gmail.com. Thank you.
what exactly can cause the timing not to work? It really does not seem to be the wear...plus there is a few bars of pressure acting on cca. 4 sq.cm of piston surface, thats at least 10kg or 100N of force, which is a lot, simply it doesnt make any sense to me, what is stopping the assembly from moving... please are you able to sell me the new piston with piston ring and sleeve? I will manage to pull the old one out of the housing and to press the new one in...I dont care about the price, if it helps...I already disassembled and reassembled those pumps a few times, everything works as before, so I am not afraid to finish it successfully and I dont want to buy a new pump when I can repair at least one of them...please let me know, if its possible for you to help me...I dont want it for free...thank you very very much!!!
Hello Adam! I'm very sorry for disturbing you, I can imagine, how many people were bothering you regarding this matter...I spent a lot of time looking for person like you, who could be wise enough around VP44...I have two of them opened, the first one has a problem with electronics, it works, both timing advance solenoid and fuel metering solenoid, but not correctly, idling is very erratic, I guess every other cylinder fires, timing jumps, but when accelerating everything is fine and works...It happened a few weeks after the pump died and I had to fit a new IAT...I ran out of ideas so I bought another pump, and there developed the timing problem, I can activate the solenoid with diagnostic, but cam ring does not move...but my biggest problem is - both advance pistons are not stuck, moving freely, they are worn out similarly, both cam rings look like new, they do not seize or get stuck...but neither of those advance pistons from both pumps sticks...

Please email contact info to atillc2000@aol.com
Yes the lines would need to be removed then the three torx screws and hold down plate. Solenoid will pop out and oring can be replaced.
