2005 JD 7810.... need more POWER

ive got a nice 7810, wanting some more juice in it. wasnt sure if they offerd anything for the liler ones... i know the 8.1L theres plenty. Id also like to get something for my 99 8400, but its getting traded on an STX375 soon!

Thanks guys!

Ts Performance offers some chips for the 7810

Norris 04-13-2009 10:36 PM

when theyre talking a 10 20 and 30 percent gain, what kinda hp are we talking....

ever heard of any problems with them... really love the tractor, had her since 400 hours (1700) now and want to keep it around!

diehardjohndeer 04-15-2009 09:30 PM

I'm not sure how they figure their percentage.
A diesel shop told my dad that a JD will handle the extra horsepower as good as any of em,but we haven't ever had a chance to try one so i don't how they work,or if they do anything with your trans shifting

Norris 04-16-2009 06:01 PM

its got the PS, so wouldnt have to worry about anything IVT related... id love to try one but man theyre expensive!!

cumminspuller 04-17-2009 11:41 AM

Norris does ya'lls 7810 have an IVT in it?

Norris 04-18-2009 08:51 PM

no... i wish.

Powershift. last batch of 7810s they built tho. 2005.

cumminspuller 04-19-2009 02:22 AM

Ok sorry I miss read one of those post. I've only seen one with it in there so i was wonderin. I didnt think they were even available on the 10 series until I seen that one.

Norris 04-19-2009 12:30 PM

lol looked at getting a new 7930 with ivt, but didnt think i could justify it for 900 acres lol

cumminspuller 04-19-2009 02:00 PM

I've got a neighbor that bought a 7920 with an IVT as soon as they came out for around 600 acres. LOL He does about 300 to 325 acres of sweet taters though. He jus wanted it cause he wouldnt have to order and wait on a tractor with a creaper for pullin his digger. There has only been 2 Ivt tractors sold around here. That 7920 and TDOT has a 6420 with a side arm mower on it. It is however settin in the shop at the dealer right now in need of a transmission that is $21k list price.

Norris 04-19-2009 05:17 PM

ouch, theres alot around here. friend has a 7810 with IVT tho...

cumminspuller 04-20-2009 09:48 PM

I had never seen an IVT in 10 series till I seen the one on tractor house the other day. I got the opportunity to run a 8430 with an IVT while I was in collage in Mississippi. I really did like it pullin a pan and a disk. It was a cadillac of tractors. IVT Active seat and ILS. Needless to say I got spoiled very quick. LOL

Norris 04-20-2009 11:06 PM

dang... sounds nice. getting ready to get rid of my 8400, want a 4x4. only got 2700 hours..... mint shape. wanting an stx375... cheap horsepower and 8400s going for around 90k right now up here.

straight_six 04-20-2009 11:07 PM

just get some red or blue spray paint!!!!!! :rockwoot::rockwoot:

:Cheer:

cumminspuller 04-21-2009 09:54 PM

Noris I hear you on wantin a 4x4. Me and a friend of mine have been tryin to find a good reliable used one to pull 2 pans on the farm and pull a bigger grain buggy if he ever gets one. I thought I had him talked into gettin a 9430 deere that was only a year old. But then desided against that. So still lookin. I haven't ever been around any stx tractors in the field before.

Norris 04-22-2009 08:22 AM

me either, but for their price cant beat them! old case 93's are pretty cheap now too!

cumminspuller 04-22-2009 10:46 PM

R you talkin bout the old 9350 and 9380s?

scott2001 04-23-2009 12:35 AM

well in terms of hp rating if the tractor had 100 hp than the box would add 20 to 30 hp

Norris 04-23-2009 10:04 AM

ya 9380s and 70s....

cumminspuller 04-27-2009 10:52 PM

Yea I looked at those the other night. I actually found one bout 30 min from the house but it has no pto which is a slight problem. Not goin to pull a grain buggy to well with no pto. LOL
