Photobucket

I looked around real quick to see if anyone had addressed ideas to remedy this issue. It appears that photobucket has gotten greedy and I know a lot of people are not going to be willing to shell out the money to host their images. I have a whole build thread here dedicated to my truck with 100s of images but don't have the ability to go back and edit posts to update picture links or even just upload straight to compd as attachments.

What would be the best way to go about fixing this?

Thank you,
Kris

I've been using photobucket for years and years to host my images. I've never had them ask for money. I still use it on here every now and then.

Yea. They just now came out with this crap. I have seen quite a few people that have been hit with it. Something along the lines of "we have noticed that you are using your account for 3rd party hosting, if you want to 3rd party host like on a forum; you will need to upgrade to a "plus" account". Only for a low low fee of like 600 bucks a year!!!! ridiculous. What the hell else do people even use photobucket for?...

Wow. I'll post a pic here and see if they tell me that crap. If so, they can #Sand.

Testing....

Weird! I wonder If its because you have under like 200 images uploaded and I have over 900?...

I have my Willys build thread posted to 4 different forums, using photobucket for every single image so I didn't have to upload to individually to each site. Then I have multiple threads in those 4 forums plus 3 more where I have shared images to help other people with their builds, or get opinions on other smaller projects I was doing, etc. ALL uploaded with photobucket and all of them replaced with a "stock image" now.

It would take me forever to try to get every single link fixed in every single forum. Right now I was just brainstorming on how I could even think about tackling the job for at least my current build thread. CompD's post editing policy is a little bit of a hurdle if I was going to consider relinking every single image.

Yeah I'm having the issue now with all of mine saying something like we have noticed that you are using your account for 3rd party hosting.

I haven't used another site similar to photo bucket so I'm in need of suggestions on what site I should go to.

upload from tapatalk, use imgur, drop box, flicker.. many options, but it does suck that they did this to us.

Looks like my image above has changed overnight. ^^^^^^

Screw 'em. That's the first time I've ever seen that.

I'll not be using their site anymore. The only reason to use their schidt it to host 3rd part images.

It is due to traffic across your profile. According to someone else on another forum. Most everyone I know is ditching photobucket for another app. I will be shortly.

I stopped using their crap long ago. So much click bait and pop ups when I use it.

mikmaze 07-07-2017 08:59 AM

bwc, I have not determined which I prefer yet, PB was fine for me, worked well with ad blockers up and running. for now trying to get used to tapatalk to post pics.

I have been using postimage.org for the last couple years. Got tired of the stupid computer killing adds on Photobucket.
