More HP/TQ available from the A630
Glad to see this new subforum. Thanks mods! Just looking over VM North America's website and found this:
http://www.vmmotori.com/a-630-dohc-h...ohc-hp-en.html Did the conversions and it comes to 271hp and 443lb/ft torque. Ram should check into getting this engine epa certified. I've got all kinds of love for the stock 240hp version, but a little more grunt wouldn't hurt anything. |
I'm guessing when Toyota and Nissan debut the 5.0 Cummins with 300/500, we'll see a bump in the VM power ratings.

That is my guess as well. Makes perfect sense.

Reading the article, the air gap manifold peaks interest. I guess it acts as an insulating layer to keep more heat in the exhaust flow. Should help spool.

Interested to just see first hand pics of what these engine bays look like.

I called banks a few months back and was quoted $25-30k for their version of the V6 engine with a beefed up GM 6L90 tranny with a custom converter and bell housing. (its the version of the 6L90 that goes behind the supercharged LS engines) Apparently I was quoted a price for the military spec version and the civilian version is said to be thousands cheaper........Well it damn sure better given the MSRP of a brand new tradesman ecodiesel ram with an 8spd auto is $31k and change.
Banks put a VM 3.0 V6 in a one ton GM truck and rates it at 300hp/500 lb/tq ..... same as the original LB7 and less than half the size. Claims it gets 22% better mileage than the original Dmax. video below shows this truck. adam carolla carcast video ass kiss fest I think one of these V6's would be a hoot in an S10. |
