12v Tune

Can anyone explain how to make a 12 valve tune for a 2012 6.7 Cummins? I know you have to zero pilot duration and I added ~ 30 hp duration. But I'm at a loss when it comes to what amount of timing increase is needed as I'm getting lots of white smoke without changing timing. Thanks

I’ve wrote some single event tunes. I don’t like to do them as most everyone can’t agree on what they are expecting out of it. Often times if, just my opinion on this, you mess the tune up enough to get an aggressive rattle that some expect them there are some drawbacks like some white smoke on start up. I would start around 6* of main in your lower RPM, tailor to your liking.

I tried doing 8* at idle but get a hell of a lot of white smoke while revving at idle. I know that means add more timing but I'm wondering if I'm missing something in another table that's causing that

My concept when writing a single event tune is to base off my background with static timed 12v. Definitely need to ramp some timing into it with RPM. Can’t just leave it at 8.

So it is a matter of going through the entire table and making different timing changes or just add a set amount of timing to the entire table
