05 48re to manual trans ecm flash

I have access to a witech. Anyone know what program or file I will need to upload to the ecm to flash it over to a manual trans?

Use a smarty. That’s what we used on the one we did. We ended up getting the truck to run like a manual with everything working

Thanks guys, I just got the truck running and moving so next up is taking care of the ecm since you can’t open the door when it’s running without it getting angry.

And Bob, will I need a different vin to program the truck or can I just use the factory vin?

You would need to program it with the factory VIN, especially since it likely has active security (SKIM).

Ran into a problem tonight. Found the software flash file, which updates to a 25325351ai, but I do not have an adapter to go from the Laptop to the drb3. According to the tsb’s I’ve read I need to upload the file to the drb3 then reflash the ecm. Does anyone know if on an 05 I can go right from TechTOOLS to the ecm, or do I NEED to use the drb3 to flash the file? I also recorded the skim key for myself if I get this resolved.

Did not realize witech had a drb3 emulator. Going to try to use it tomorrow.
