Turbos, good, bad and ugly.
ON3 78mm turbo, 1.01 A/R, 87mm turbine, T4, has nicks and chips in the compressor wheel, from being run with no air cleaner, has some minor play, should still run with either a new wheel, or clean up on this one, bought it off here years ago, $275 SHIPPED.
Holset HT3B, with a 23cm T-4 housing, part number 3525325, from an ancient Cummins, nice and tight, could use a good cleaning, $250 SHIPPED. Borg Warner S467.7, from a BURN, has a 1.10 T-4 housing, still spins over, possibly has a warped turbine, AS-IS, $175 SHIPPED. Borg Warner SX-E 478, .90 A/R T-4 housing, turbo part number 14879880082, this was a new unit that got ran out of oil and killed the bushings, no major housing contact, but it's definitely a loose core, $400/obo. 2004.5-2007 Holset HE351CW, good runner, typical clearances for a used turbo, has sensor, $350 SHIPPED. Pics of the 467.7.
I did dump some oil down the cartridge and let it sit. It turned freely, seems smooth and it didn't look or feel like the shaft was bent. It does have a superficial spot of what looks like melted aluminum, but I doubt it affects a thing. Mark. |

The S-467.7 is SOLD!
I'll come down significantly on the S-478. __________________________________ --------------------------------------------------- Quote:
If I were that capable and deranged, we wouldn't have certain people around. Hard to believe that so MANY supposedly got sent out, yet not a ONE has done any more damage than make a liberal's hair stand on end, plus, maybe, make their blood run a little colder than normal. We'll never know the full truth about who sent them and why they got sent, but one can imagine. Mark. |
I brainfarted!
The "S-478" is actually an S-472. Dunno' why I did that. Mark. |
Does the 472 have the v band clamp for the center cartridge to exhaust housing? Or is it bolt style?

Seems like I saw something about the size when I googled the part number. Mark. |
PN shows 87mm
|
Pulled the 472 apart and it measured ~87.3 on the big end, BUT, the CHRA is history.
I think the compressor wheel and cover is usable, but the turbine and bearing housing is definitely junk. Can't really SEE any direct damage on the exhaust housing, though I'm sure someone else more into these things probably could. I'd do $200 shipped on the thing, or make me offers on the parts you might want from it. Mark. |

Parting out the s-472, SOLD the exhaust housing already.
Make offers on the rest of it, otherwise I'll deposit the rest of it into the scrap bin. Mark. |
Is the bearing housing rebuildable? On the s472?
|
I would say not, there's no place left for the sealing ring to ride on.
