Continental F226

Picked up an old Forklift/tractor with a Continental F226 in it. Wondering if anyone knows what i should be using for engine oil? Its about 1963 vintage.

Whatever stays in the longest!
If it’s like any of the Lincoln welders I’ve been around, it won’t stay in long. LOL
I use a high mileage something or other.

I just use 15-40 rotella in all my old 40's 50's engines.

We use some straight 30w in some of our stuff, 50W in the REALLY old stuff, and 15w-40 in the rest of it.

Any thing with a pressurized oiling system and filter, you want to run conventional oil.

Straight 30

PRINCETON_JAKE 09-10-2018 06:59 PM

I’d deffinetly run multi grade. I run Rotella 10w30 in my tractors, equipment, ect. Especially since your in Minnesota too and the weather varies a lot

I always ran straight 30W in the old Continentals.

Same engine as the Massey Harris 101 senior and 44-6 isn’t it Chris?
