Retrofit Projector problems on my VW TDI?

I realize this isn't necessarily diesel related, but its on a diesel powered car and I can't get any help on the TDI forum or retrofit forums.

Ok I have had a set of retrofits in my car for almost a year now, and they work great on the low beam but I cannot get the high beams to work correctly. Switching from low beam to high beam my bulbs shut completely off.

Parts:
Acme H1 projectors
Morimoto bulbs and ballast's
Morimoto relay harness

I asked on a retrofit forum on FB and was told to swap the blue and white wires in the 9004/9007 plug on the relay harness. Doing this doesn't change anything. Now if I swap the brown wire from one end of the plug to the other it doesn't matter what position the white and blue wires are in in the other slots I have high beams on the low setting. Then when I flip the stalk from low to high the shield retracts as if to go to low beam, but then the bulb cuts completely off.

We've tried the wires all different ways and cannot figure it out, has anyone had this same issue?

Are those the headlights that make me want to strangle the owner for blinding the snot out of me when they go by or is that the HID headlights?

NO, I actually spent the extra money to do it correctly and retrofitted hid projectors into my halogen housings not a plug and play kit. They actually direct the light unlike sticking plug n play hid's in a reflector housing that just glares everywhere and blinds everyone you meet on the road and drive behind. They also have a cut off line on the low beam side so that it doesn't blind on coming traffic.

Not mine but you get the idea

Your Jetta takes a 9007 lamp so your factory wiring is:

http://www.competitiondiesel.com/for...1&d=1541869098
  • Yellow = High
  • White = Low
  • Brown = Ground

From Morimoto’s website, their wiring is:

http://www.competitiondiesel.com/for...1&d=1541869098
  • Blue = High
  • Red = Low
  • White = Ground

So, correct wiring would be:
FACTORY = MORIMOTO
Yellow = Blue
White = Red
Brown = White

.

Well now eating crow for dinner. I never thought to look at fuses in the car because the brights worked fine when i swapped head light assemblies in January. Turned out you were right about the wiring Scott, but this car has a fuse for left and right high and low beam. One of the high beam fuses was blown and therefore now allowing the whole circuit to work. I feel like a total idiot. Can't wait to drive home tonight though!!!

Check your fuses yeah I'm back
