tow/haul light flashing

I have a Suncoast trans with billet input shaft and stage 2 torque converter less the a year old. The trans is not shifting into overdrive. it runs through the gears normally but not into high gear. trans temp. is 150* out side temp is 70* checked the fluid it is normal and clean. any help would be great.

If it doesn't have overdrive it doesn't have 2nd gear either since 2nd is 1st and overdrive together. What is the code from the tow/haul flash?

turbotory 11-01-2008 06:59 PM

do i count the number of flashes?

PSDPlayer 11-01-2008 07:03 PM

Nope. Scan it with the Xcal.

i did that went into the dtc menu said no codes found, just took it out for a drive to get it to flash again now it is working flawlessly and no tow/haul light flashing, even laid into it shifted great. i don't no maybe I'm going crazy

PSDPlayer 11-01-2008 07:33 PM

Its possible.

turbotory 11-01-2008 07:38 PM

the truck sat in the drive for about an hour before i took it out again. should i change my fluid? sticky solenoid?

If there was a code set it will still be there. Try running down to autozone and see if they have something that will scan the TCM for codes. Don't do anything until you get the code.

ok ,thanks

went to autozone this morning they said they cant read tcm codes. i live about 25min to the nearest one. while driving there the trans shifted great. all is normal. maybe it was just a hiccup?

would the suncoast set codes like the stock torqshift and set the tow/haul light to blink when a code was set?

It may be built by Suncoast but it's still controlled by the original TCM. All the DTCs should report the same as a stock unit.

cool thanks Matt.
