Fuel shutoff pull cable??
Needing some advice on getting rid of the fuel shutoff solenoid and wanting to go with a pull cable. I know it has been done but I'm needing some help on what pull cable is used and pictures if a custom bracket was made. Any advice or pictures to help it appreciated

Fuel shutoff pull cable??
I’ll snap some tomorrow for you. Simple as hell. Removed the solenoid and installed a spring so it’s always in the up position. Routed a cable through the firewall (drilled a small hole) and it comes out on my dash. I still need to clean it up. Only issue that was brought to my attention was it could pop start itself (manual transmission) if it’s on a hill steep enough ..... I’ll take my chances lol.

The roll starting thing has always been in the back of my head, but it's never happened to me yet. I've though about taking a small piece of c channel like steel and putting it on a hinge so it can swing under the knob to keep it pulled out.

I just got rid of my pull cable fuel shut off and went back to a solenoid, if you want the cable and bracket you can have it for the cost of shipping.

I have had the pull cable in previous trucks and honestly I would just replace the solenoid. It always seemed to be a pain in the azz and in the way if I ever wanted to mess with the pump and it is nice to just turn the key off. It seems okay until you go to sell the truck and then when you have to explain how you need to pull a cable to shut it off it starts to feel a bit janky LOL

Here you go. Let me know if you need some explaining.

I used a boat control cable, threaded at both ends. Took all the factory solenoid brackets off the pump and hooked the cable to the lever going directly in the pump, which makes it a push forward on/pull back off instead of going thru the factory linkage which is up and down. The boat cable has plenty of tension where no spring is needed and has plenty of travel. They look like mini control cables.

Here's a couple of pics I saved from here so I could see how others had done it in case I ever wanted to go that way. I don't know who's truck they are but it's not my truck so I can't give any advice, just thought they may give a couple more ideas.
