First 1/4mile pass with new build

I really want to know if my mods, dyno numbers and 1/4mile time adds up.
1998 12v QBLB 47re
460cc 180hp pump 4k gsk, timing 20 degrees
DDP4’s AFC LIVE
362/68/.7 over 475/92/1.10
Stage 4 colt cam, ported head, stainlessdiesel.com manifold
Mishimoto intercooler
Balanced bottom end bored .020 over

I Dyno’d 530hp at 3900rpm and 75psi boost. Torque unknown. First time on a dyno and feel like I effed it up. I think TC was locking and unlocking. Didn’t have lockup switch.

My 1/4 mile RT .543
60’ 1.87 leaving at 20psi
330 5.59
1/8th 8.58
Mph 83.33
1000’ 11.11

1/4 13.25
Mph 105.07

Fuel Pressure stayed around 35 at WOT
Tires are 305/55/20 falken wildpeak at3w. Each rim/tire weighs 103lbs!!!!
Doing highway pulls I hit 70-75psi no problem. But the highest boost I got going down the track was 55psi. I could feel at the end of the run that it wasn’t pulling as hard as it can like it does on the highway. Is that because I was in 4x4?

My torque converter is super tight. I had to raise my idle to 1000 just so it won’t stall. I can idle at 50km/h forever. The lockup shift on normal acceleration like 2000rpm drops about 400rpm. Don’t know if thats holding me back?

My lockup switch puts it straight into OD so it lugs horribly if i hit it below 70km/h So I wasn’t locked for the first half of the track....

How’s it all sound and what’s gonna get me into the 12’s
Thanks guys

Your 2 seconds slow for what I see, I'd like to help, any vids?

KidCarson22 09-14-2018 11:00 PM

Guess 13 sec is too slow, video is too big, getting invalid file. Trying from my phone

smokinVE 09-14-2018 11:10 PM

YouTube it and post a link

What happens if you put the AFC Live on “kill”? Looks like you are running really clean.

KidCarson22 09-15-2018 09:20 AM

It is on kill mode. It always cleans right up pretty fast even with TC locked. Egts are 13-1400

Got Smoke? 09-15-2018 11:09 AM

Is it possible you need more injector? Power numbers seem low to me for twins of that size?

I'm running a single 63/67 and cleaning up all my fuel with P&P head, cam, .020 over big bowl pistons, and a benched 215pump set at 25*. Fastest I've run so far has been 8.78 @ 78mph and I'm an Ext Cab LWB like you, and I'm cleaning up all my smoke going down the track and only pushing 32-35psi. I'm pulling my 5x14's this weekend and ordering some 5x18's from Chris @ Ducky Fuel Injection

Timing is way to slow for racing needs 30 degrees

Big Blue24 09-15-2018 03:04 PM

DDP 4's are not big by any means, they usually measure out close to 5x0135" 155* sac. While they probably run well/clean, they will hold that pump back a little in the upper rpm range. 20* timing is not ideal when trying to make maximum power at the drag strip, try at least 25* next time out, and don't be afraid to test it up to 30* when you get bigger injectors if it's still smoking heavily. Lockup is extremely important when trying to run well at the drag strip. When the converter is unlocked, you're losing anywhere from 50 to 100 HP on a 500 HP truck any time the converter is unlocked.

KidCarson22 09-15-2018 08:15 PM

Thanks for the input! I’ll raise timing and What size injector would be good to jump up too, 5x16? 5x18? 5x20?

Should I look into an anteater or something similar? Because Only lockup I could do is start with it in Drive and in OD/OFF. Then I would hit the lock up switch and hit the OD/OFF again around 1/8th so it lock shifts into OD..

Redrider2911 09-15-2018 09:29 PM

Google lockup switch and 2nd gear lockup mod.

JWhite 09-16-2018 09:15 AM

What's the truck weigh? IMO the trap speed seems close for the dyno number. With the right setup on the chassis / converter you might run a mid 12 with that trap speed, no way you're going to shave 2 seconds.

jasonc 09-16-2018 07:44 PM

Those chargers and truck combo have 11's all day

JWhite 09-16-2018 08:23 PM

And the chargers aren't the only part that makes power either, as everyone has been discussing. Current setup won't run an 11

Downtownbrown 09-21-2018 12:33 PM

Seems like a little less tire and wheel and some more fuel would get you where you want to be

JQmile 09-21-2018 12:58 PM

I went 7.76 at 89 in the 1/8 (low 12s) with a similar combo (160hp pump 5x18s, 28 deg, and 57/71 turbos) like everyone else said, sounds like you need a little more timing and fuel. You can also try locking it earlier and then manually shifting it, just try and not to hit neutral! Good start, but lots of room to grow.

Big Blue24 09-21-2018 01:10 PM

If you're looking for maximum HP per $$$, our Budget Builder 5x018 VCO is hard to beat. They are on sale this month as well. With compound turbos, 5x018 are easy to drive clean on the street. Optional edge filter removal and needle work also add substantial power when the turbo setup produces enough air to clean up. If it's already smoking heavy up top, needle work creates more smoke but not necessarily more power.
