What Diagnostic tool would you recommend?

My employer is looking for a diagnostic tool for their small fleet of trucks.

The trucks include:
2011 and newer F250, F350, and F450's with 6.7 Liter Diesel
2000-2003 IH 4900's with 466's and Allison Auto
2004-2005 IH 7400's with (I believe a newer variation of the 466) and Allison Auto
2009-2013 IH 7400's with Maxxforce and Allison Auto
2015-Current Freightliner M2-106's with ISL Cummins and Allison Auto

They also have some equipment that would just be a bonus if it would work with as well:
2012 Case 580 Super N Backhoe
2018 JD 333G Compact Track Loader
2012 JD 5075E Tractor
2012 JD 35D Mini Excavator

They are looking for something to scan codes, help in the diagnosis of issues, provide tech tips etc.

What would you recommend?

Check out diesel lap tops. They have set ups to cover most all of those. for the Ford 6.7 I always recommend Ford IDS.

I’ve seen the diesel laptops online but am curious if anyone has any experience with them? On paper they look great but didn’t know about the real world. Keep the ideas coming!

I don't have personal experience with them, but some of the bigger players in the diesel aftermarket were pushing them pretty hard at the ADS convention last year. Supposedly best "bang for your buck" as far as overall coverage and capability. Not many tools cover that many on and offroad vehicles, as well as light/medium trucks. FWIW

Keep in mind some OEM dealers are denying warranty claims for vehicles with illegal service tools connected to them. Doesn't matter if the vehicle software was visibly changed or not.

FORScan for the Ford stuff. I have found this to be a close 2nd to IDS. In for info on the Diesel lab top, my cousin is looking for something like that as well.
