what kind of power is that making? and of course whats the price tag?

AsTroSS 04-17-2011 11:23 AM

I think M90 is bit small to 5.9 ,

My idea is to run M122 with HY551 vgt :evil

mikmaze 04-17-2011 11:43 AM

just one supercharger ? thats so unlike you.........

jlibert 04-17-2011 12:09 PM

pretty neat.

DieselFanatic87 04-17-2011 01:06 PM

thats pretty kool always thought how that would mount up on a cummins and work out for being only feeding six cylinders. How is the smoke?

Not built to sell. I built it to tow, and it tows well. 12k 4 horse slant load w/all 4 horses and saddles/gear/riders/ect. Pulling 7* grades from a stop, the pyro stayed under 1100*. The only time it got over 1200* is when I was in OD locked @ 70mph up long hills. but a little tuning will fix that.
I currently have no plate, soft AFC spring, starwheel & AFC full forward, 18* timing, 7x12 injectors.
I need to swap to a much stiffer spring and put at least a couple clicks in the starwheel.
went with the MP90 as it is more efficient than the M90 and cheaper/smaller (easier to mount) than the m112 or 122.
The MP90 is currently driven 3.54:1, I may bump it to 4:1 later, but for now it works great.
I was originally going to mount it on the driverside but I wanted to keep the IC in the loop.

mikmaze- I do have 3 more m90s, Hmmmm...

mikmaze 04-17-2011 06:05 PM

sounds good on pullin the load, as for three more, yikes !

Are you bypassing it once the turbo lights??

Lostnwalmart 04-17-2011 11:01 PM

I like it! Next time use a 4L whipple and a bigger turbo ;-)

Quote from another board ....

(Very Good! This MP90, like many modern SC's of its type has an internal bypass valve. it doesnt really bypass the rotors, but rather equalizes the pressure on each side so the SC isnt working so hard.
I have a turbonetics 80mm Y2K single tucked under the blower to handle top-end demands.
The SC is driven @ 3.54:1 so it is pushing 1.75x what the engine can use per revolution, with this ratio 5psi is right off idle and 20psi by 2500RPMs and by then the Y2K is lit and 45psi comes fast.)

That's sick, I didn't know you could get a supercharger that cheap.

SmoktU21 04-18-2011 05:18 AM

That thing sounds mean.

DIESEL_POWER 04-18-2011 08:03 AM

If only I had that kind of money! I have less in the whole system than the cost of the whipple alone! but it prolly would be nice. :)

bsmith 04-18-2011 08:58 AM

Whats a mp90 go for?

TURBOLVR 04-18-2011 09:26 AM

I got mine rebuilt for under $1k.

Lol it's a dream what can I say. You did a great job.

ThrottleJockey 04-22-2011 10:05 AM

That's probably the EPA's version of the diesel engine of the future. Cleans up the soot even quicker than the ProChargers from Empire Diesel.

That is if the EPA had a brain....

How well would this kit work with a 64/71/14 turbo. Just wondering? As for fuel I'm runnin 5x14s, no plate, stock 181s, 4gsk, on a 215 pump. It would be nice to see some bottom end boost the 64 doesn't see boost till 1800rpm.... no bueno for pullin hills haulin.
