2020 ram..cp4...

haven't heard much good about em...s&s already making a cp3 replacement but dodge wont use them in warranty...heard repairs from this failure are over 15k and parts very limited....let us pray...:nail:

The 2021 will be going back to the CP3. Bosch is an arsehole of a supplier to work with.

BigPapa 10-26-2020 09:41 AM

Lots of threads on this on TDR. Some “insiders” claim there’s a TSB stating FCA will convert to a CP3 in the case of a failure but nothing has been substantiated yet.

dieselbeef 10-26-2020 10:49 AM

nothing on the hdr forums about that part...mostly just getting screwed by fca

BigPapa 10-26-2020 12:28 PM

What’s “HDR”?

Good news Cp4 to Cp3

Swap it to a CP3, do a couple other "mods," and never worry about it again.

Leave it alone! Thought the major factor of buying a new one was to have a warranty, and not need to work on it. Now once the warranty is out, game on do whatever, but I say leave it alone for now. I've had the entire fuel system and glow plugs replaced this yr in my Jetta, under warranty, didn't even charge me for the loaner/rental car while working on mine. Work on the '02 if you're bored. I wouldn't even run any fuel additives, don't give them any excuse to void the warranty. Oh, my Jetta is also a CP4 pump.

oh I aint doing schiz...drivin it...oil and fule filters...might add a kn filter..but that's about it..just to save replacement costs..

that was the idea...its nice to come home and watch tv ...hell I got in the house before 8 all last week....amazing...

warranty is right.....part of the payments..i hate em..but Faulkner told me once stop buying other peoples problems.....so I did

Snedge 10-27-2020 06:13 AM

I'd skip the K&N filter too. Just drive it Gary.

Yes, YES, YES. :rockwoot:

.

Dealers will blame anything aftermarket for any issue you'd have. Did you know that an aftermarket air filter can wipe out injectors? It's crazy.

lol...I gotcha....the idea was to not work on stuff...my goal has been reached. needs towhooks tho...wish it had factory fog lights too but..meh...don't need em...

Snedge 10-27-2020 10:01 AM

Right on . Get used to the truck. Make sure it's not going to spend time in the warranty, and recall bay. You may get away with putting some wheels on it if you have to, but even then, you'll need to make sure the dealership is on your side when it comes to repairs.

I saw the pictures in the other thread, looks nice. How do you like the power ?

dieselbeef 10-27-2020 11:26 AM

plenty for me..good roll on too..easy to pass...engine brake is surprisingly good...gonna hit the scales with it next time I got a full load out camping....outpull the fl but not as stable naturally...quiet and comfy

You an FCA guy? There’s a lot of other stuff going on behind the scenes but yea the CP4 wasn’t a great move.

I wonder if the term self-fulfilling prophesy applies? Think and act positive, and the results will follow suit.

Also..I don't believe in luck.

On another note...FCA has more bastard years than not haha
