238.60mph....

Not much action in the videos thread so I figured I would bump again....Lambo running 238mph in the 1/2 mile.....and video is awesome. Spinning an AWD car in Fourth Gear rocks!

Pretty cool. Not diesel but cool

Grudgeguy 12-06-2015 09:54 AM

I'd love to race one of these cars with my old beater mopar

Mad Fabrication 12-06-2015 09:55 AM

Your truck?

Grudgeguy 12-06-2015 10:02 AM

Lol no the fast beater. I think I could clip one of these 1/8 or 1/4 mile. Obviously those cars can do a lot mine won't but they don't do wheelies! Lol

I'd say my vette is closer to a roller racer then drag racer. It's a 100% assumption i'll never have a big walled tire on the car. Drag radial at best (nt05r or r888, or something like that)

I'm sure my truck would edge out my vette from an ET perspective, i'm sure I'll run 10's but never low 9's like it "should" be able to do. For sure my truck would killed my vette in the 1/8.

To put it into perspective, of the power difference with the gearing between a drag racer and roll/high-speed car. My vette pulls harder in 4th at over 120mph then my truck does when it hits lockup in 2nd when it finally makes full boost a few 100 feet down the strip.

Let that sit in for a moment. These cars move the heck out on the big end like drag cars do from a dead stop.

I'm not sure if you are assuming I'm big tire but I'm only on a 26x10 or 26x8.5 tire, stock suspension SB Mopar nitrous combo. Used to be a 10.1X at 136 car... more power now

I do understand the different applications tho, like I said these cars do a lot of things mine never will

I have 345's on the vette, but they'll never hook from a dig like your car does. I know I can work the suspension and what not to help a lot but that won't happen.

My point being, it's kind of silly to compare the two types of cars, the lambo is never going to put down the all 2300whp until well after the 1/4 mile

I haven't run the numbers on my car since the motor rebuild. ~3400# with me, the calculator comes out to 150mph and 8.9 in the 1/4. LOL, that'll never happen.

However, I'll sure as heck love to see if I can break 200 in a 1/2 mile. I know I'll break 200 "un-officially" next year from a 70 roll

Grudgeguy 12-06-2015 11:18 AM

It was more curiosity than comparison. Your vette sounds like a fun drive tho! I think it could go 200 1/2 mile

Impressive. It looks like Robert Himler's old car he had Underground build for him a couple years back?
