Software beta testers needed for 'Anteater'

I need a few software beta testers to wreck a piece of software I've written for my standalone 47RH/47RE/48RE transmission controllers.

PM or email if you would like a link to the beta software. Windows 7 or 8 only.

I also need three hardware beta testers. In exchange for hardware beta testing, testers will receive a $200 coupon which may be applied towards the finished controller. Hardware beta testers will need working 47RE transmission and $750 for the controller with harness ($1200 complete with Firepunk VB).

PM or email if you would like to be on the hardware beta.

MAXTORQ 08-31-2014 11:36 PM

I'm in. Have a 1/2 ton build I'm about to finish and was wanting to run a stand alone.

Would it be appropriate to ask about the valvebody and its related modifications at this point? (relative to the controller setup)

joefarmer 09-02-2014 11:03 AM

I've daily driven the hardware controller on a stock 47re VB with decent results. Then Lavon took the stock VB as a core and built me a modified Firepunk VB with excellent results. I recommend a modification that deletes the TV cable altogether, but I would like to test it on a stock setup with a TV cable intact as well.

Headcase98002 09-02-2014 12:02 PM

I'm interested, as I hate my OD/Lock-up shifts.

you willing to share the controller input parameters ?

I'm not quite sure I understand? My guess is that you are wondering what's needed to hook up this controller? It only needs the factory VB electronics and 12v to function at a minimum level. Ideally, you would also provide a 0-5v APPS sensor or tap an existing 0-5v APPS sensor.

Hurley 09-02-2014 12:38 PM

Oh, I meant what the controller monitors to manipulate the VB - TPS, engine RPM, Vehicle speed, etc.

CorneliusRox 09-02-2014 01:57 PM

So this is a stand alone controller where you would unhook the connector from the PCM correct?

Then does it control OD, and lockup, along with controlling your gear with only the governor solenoid?

12vriviera 09-02-2014 02:08 PM

Dang I wish I had a need for this in the car, but mine currently works so well!

biggy238 09-02-2014 02:14 PM

I would imagine it utilizes all of the circuits available to the OE Controller, including the governor and tcc solenoid.

I want to know what is being used on the RH valvebodies

Those are the only available items to control electronically on the 47/48RE, so IMHO - yes.

APPS and all the factory transmission sensors. Pressure, temp and speed sensors.

Correct. No PCM is needed or wanted.

Me too!

Correct. An RH is a 6 wire hookup, 3 on the VB harness and 3 on the speed sensor. It ends up being only a lockup/overdrive controller that monitors vehicle speed and throttle to shift or lockup.

12vriviera 09-03-2014 03:18 PM

Brandon. I can just remove factory harness and pcm and use this correct?
Because it would be an awesome option, I just have no idea what to do computer wise.I ain't that bright

A trip to Ohio might be in order

biggy238 09-03-2014 06:06 PM

I'm sure he can kick out a baseline and you could fine tune.
I wish I had time to pursue this.

matty169 09-04-2014 01:30 AM

I would try the rh deal. Maybe get rid of suncoast controller????

All of them come with the baseline tunes of what I daily drive. I really wanted this to be a complete plug in and go solution. So far the base file covers 95% of the people out there because I patterned it off the OEM shift tables.

Already talked to Lavon about yours. I need the title to my '48 to test the RH and then I'm ready for your truck.

12vriviera 09-04-2014 03:40 PM

Ok, now I wish I had the money..

biggy238 09-04-2014 07:50 PM

This makes me want to do my own like we had discussed. I was part of the way there. I may have to loft my goal a little higher.

matty169 09-04-2014 09:39 PM

Title to '48????

biggy238 09-04-2014 09:49 PM

Though it was a car with a 47rh installed

matty169 09-04-2014 10:48 PM

I can leave the truck with you to experiment if you want it. Changing turbo, manifold, downpipe, external gate and installed 2 stage progressive kit right now. Knock yourselves out if you want.

I have a 1948 dodge with a 12v and 47rh in it. I plan on testing the RH controller on it.

biggy238 09-05-2014 02:04 PM

Man up and drive it. We don't need no stinkin' paperwork.

LOL The sheriff that lives 5 doors down the street would make me walk the truck back home when he catches me.

Time to move! LOL

SHughes 09-08-2014 02:10 PM

Had I known this was a option back when I was looking for a manually VB, I would have waited.

biggy238 09-08-2014 08:09 PM

Any constructive feedback yet?

Schrowang 09-08-2014 08:53 PM

Should have some feedback on the software soon.

joefarmer 09-09-2014 11:29 AM

Yes actually. 5 or so software testers on board. In the process of getting the code signing cert so it doesn't say scary stuff when installing on Windows 8.1.

Hurley 10-09-2014 08:19 AM

Any updates on this one?

joefarmer 10-09-2014 12:54 PM

Yep! Have a hardware beta truck in PA testing as of last Friday. My race truck ran it for Buckeye Blast and is running it for Rudy's this weekend. As always it's been on my daily driver.

I have the code signing completed and the application is now certified for Windows 7 and 8. I need more feedback from the software beta testers.

Chevycummins 10-09-2014 12:59 PM

Pm sent joefarmer

joefarmer 10-09-2014 01:28 PM

Thank you, I sent a PM back with the info.

Chevycummins 10-09-2014 01:36 PM

Thanks

joefarmer 11-04-2014 12:01 PM

Beta truck owner: "This thing is exactly what I imagined Dodge should have done from the factory. We plugged it in, mounted the remote on the dash and immediately drove around the neighborhood. Then we did a fat smokey burnout and it performed flawlessly."

The only reported issue was a 2-3 shift hang at WOT on the street because the rearend ratio was set for 3.23 gears instead of 4.10 gears. There will be 5 more beta units sent out by December 1st. One of those units is still available as of today.

matty169 11-04-2014 05:13 PM

I have 3:55 gears, 47 RH in a 2002. Work for you?

12vriviera 11-04-2014 07:06 PM

How much will you pay me to put one on the buick? Lol

Yep. I have my hands on a RH speed sensor now. Just need to build one without the hall-effect IC on it and add the wire to power the speed sensor.

I'd have to make a profit on these before considering sponsorship. LOL :nail:

Ya know, I've got an RH and currently I am the controller. Eliminating that might be a good idea. Although it's not much for street driving.
