05 remote start issue
 

Several years back, I installed a factory remote start kit on my 05 with auto transmission. I have the delay set up so that the glow plugs cycle. Truck starts good, but when I get in the truck, put key in ignition and turn it ahead, the truck starts out in 3rd gear. If I shut ignition off and start back up, the transmission acts fine. I took the truck to the dealer and had them check it out. They put in a help request to the factory, but no one came up with an answer. Any ideas ?

I’ll be of no help other than a bump but, where did you score the factory remote start at? I’m looking for one.

I bought it thru the dealership, not long after I bought the 05. I think it would have been around 2011-12.
